Viking Attachments is expanding its Morgan City operation from pilot production to full-scale U.S. manufacturing.

The project includes a $160,000 investment and 14 new direct jobs, while strengthening local capabilities in engineering, welding, assembly and equipment production.

It’s another example of St. Mary’s industrial base creating new jobs, new capacity and broader market reach from right here at home.

The Port of Morgan City is expanding what’s possible in St. Mary Parish.

The West Dock Expansion will add new waterfront and laydown space, increasing capacity to support maritime and industrial activity. The project is part of continued investment in St. Mary Parish’s infrastructure and maritime economy and is expected to be completed in late summer 2027.

Expanded port infrastructure creates more opportunities for the industries that rely on St. Mary’s waterways and supports future business activity across the parish.

A big milestone for Saronic Technologies’ $300 million shipyard expansion in Franklin! 🏗️

The final structural beam has been placed, marking an important step toward the completion of the expanded facility. The project will add more than 300,000 square feet to Saronic’s existing shipyard, including three new slips, expanded warehouse space, and a dedicated production line for its autonomous vessels.

With 1,500 jobs projected as part of the expansion, this investment represents an exciting opportunity for our parish. The project is helping strengthen our maritime industry while bringing new jobs and continued economic growth to the area.

We’re excited to see this project take shape and look forward to what’s ahead for Saronic and St. Mary Parish!
