VACCHCS has 40,000 Veterans currently enrolled for health care eligibility and serves more than 28,000 Veterans in six counties in California’s San Joaquin Valley. The six counties include Tulare, Kings, Fresno, Madera, Merced and Mariposa. Three Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs) in Merced, Tulare and Oakhurst support the wide catchment area served by the health care system. VACCHCS CBOCs

VA Fresno Medical Center is making important upgrades to improve safety and access for Veterans, visitors, and staff. As part of this work, the Clinton Avenue entrance and exit will be temporarily closed starting July 26th, while crews install a new entrance gate, fencing, and updated curbs.

Celebrating Freedom & Five-Star Excellence! 🇺🇸⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

VA Central California Health Care System celebrated our nation’s 250th birthday and our achievement of earning a CMS Five-Star Hospital Quality Rating, the highest quality rating awarded by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.

This special celebration on July 2 at VA Fresno was made possible through the incredible support of our VA team, our volunteers, and our community partners. A heartfelt thank you to Soldiers’ Angels for providing delicious food for our Veterans, staff, and guests; DJ Eddie Lopez for keeping the celebration lively with great music and creating lasting memories with the photo booth; and the Central California Blood Center for hosting the Pint for a Pint Blood Drive. The Blood Center registered 18 donors and collected 17 units of blood, helping save up to 51 lives in our community.

Thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, and helped make this celebration a success. Together, we celebrated service, excellence, and the strong community connections that support our Veterans every day.

When socializing in an environment where alcohol is served or if you occasionally consume alcoholic beverages, it is advisable to drink with consideration and in moderation.

To ensure responsible alcohol consumption, it is advised that men limit their intake to a maximum of two drinks per day (and no more than fourteen in a week), while women should limit themselves to one drink per day (and no more than seven in a week). This is because even when men and women consume an equal amount of alcohol, women tend to have higher concentrations of alcohol in their bloodstream compared to men.
