VACCHCS has 40,000 Veterans currently enrolled for health care eligibility and serves more than 28,000 Veterans in six counties in California’s San Joaquin Valley. The six counties include Tulare, Kings, Fresno, Madera, Merced and Mariposa. Three Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs) in Merced, Tulare and Oakhurst support the wide catchment area served by the health care system. VACCHCS CBOCs use Telehealth services to increase access to specialty care such as neurology, diabetes and nutritional consultation, dermatology, wound care, mental health and other services.

This month, our Veterans Town Hall will focus on our clinics in Merced, Oakhurst, and Visalia. Every odd-numbered month, we highlight important services and updates from our CBOC locations to better connect with Veterans in these communities.

Plus, September is Vascular Disease Awareness Month. In recognition of this important topic, we're pleased to have two members of our cardiovascular team joining us this evening.

VA Central California Featured on KMJ Radio

VACCHCS Executive Director and CEO Froy Garza was a featured guest on the “Afternoon Drive with Philip Teresi” on KMJNOW 580 AM and 105.9 FM.

The September 9th interview provided an important opportunity to expand awareness of VA healthcare and encourage Veterans who may not be enrolled to explore the benefits and services available to them. Mr. Garza highlighted services and resources offered by VA Central California and invited Veterans and their families to attend the virtual Choose VA Town Hall on September 17 to learn more about VA care and how to connect with services.
