⚠️ SCAM ALERT ⚠️

We have seen an increase in scam related calls over the past few months ... please be aware who you are speaking with before providing any information and before sending any money.

Scammers can be very convincing. They may know your name or other personal information, use the name of a real officer, and even make the caller ID appear to come from a legitimate agency.

If someone calls you and says they are a family member and you need to send them money ... confirm that it is indeed that family before you send them any money. Maybe hang up and call the family member to see if they are indeed calling you for money.

If someone who represents themselves to you as a law enforcement agency and advises you that you have a warrant ... ask them to provide their agency name and court you owe the money too. Then, get the number for yourself and contact that agency/court. Don’t use a number that they provide you, click any links that they send you or enter any websites that they tell you to enter into your Internet browser.

One of the biggest tales is if you are being asked to wire money or get some type of prepaid money card, but also asking for money via PayPal Cash App or other common used methods to get people to send money.

When something doesn’t seem right ... always take a second before providing information or sending money. A little suspicion can go along way!

As students head back to school this week, the Fulton Police Department wants to remind motorists to slow down, stay alert, and obey all school bus laws.

In Texas, it is illegal and dangerous to pass a school bus that is stopped with its flashing red lights activated or stop sign extended.

Drivers approaching from either direction must stop and may not proceed until the bus resumes motion, the bus driver signals motorists to proceed, or the visual warning signals are no longer activated.

If a roadway is divided only by a center or left-turn lane, traffic traveling in both directions must stop for a school bus displaying flashing red lights. If opposing lanes are separated by a physical barrier or intervening space, only motorists traveling in the same direction as the school bus are required to stop.

Going around these buses or driving past from the opposite direction, puts the lives of our students at risk.

Please be patient, drive safely, and help us protect our kids!

💙 Happy Father’s Day 💙

The Fulton Police Department extends its warmest greetings to all fathers, especially our dedicated police officers who faithfully carry out their sworn duty to protect and serve while embracing their equally important role as loving husbands and responsible fathers.

Behind every police uniform is a father whose sacrifices extend beyond the call of duty—working tirelessly to ensure the safety of the community while providing care, support, and inspiration to his family. Their commitment, courage, and unconditional love exemplify the true essence of fatherhood.

As we celebrate this special day, let us recognize and appreciate the invaluable contributions of fathers who balance the demands of public service with the responsibilities of family life. Their dedication helps build stronger homes, safer communities, and a brighter future for the next generation.

Memorial Day Weekend safety Tips from the Fulton Police Department

🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

As Memorial Day approaches, the Fulton Police Department wants to remind everyone the importance of this holiday and to provide safety tips to ensure a safe and enjoyable weekend.

Memorial Day is a time to honor the brave men and women who have sacrificed their lives in service to our country. While many of us look forward to the long weekend, barbecues, and gatherings ... it is crucial to remember the true significance of this day.

Let's take the time to reflect on the sacrifices made by our fallen heroes and show our gratitude for their service.

Safety Tips:

🚙 TRAVEL SAFELY: if you are traveling this weekend ... plan ahead and allow extra time for traffic; ensure your vehicle is in good condition, wear your safety belt, and avoid distractions while driving ... DO NOT DRINK AND DRIVE!

💧 WATER SAFETY: if you are spending time at our fishing pier, nearby beaches or traveling to watery areas ... always supervise children and inexperienced swimmers; wear life jackets when boating and follow all posted safety guidelines.

🍔 GRILL RESPONSIBLY: if you are having a barbecue ... keep grills and smokers in well-ventilated areas, away from structures and flammable materials; never leave the grill or smoker unattended and keep a fire extinguisher nearby.

🚰 HYDRATE & PROTECT YOURSELF: if you are spending time outdoors ... stay hydrated, wear sunscreen, and protect yourself from the sun; remember to take breaks in the shade and avoid prolonged exposure to the heat.

🚓 RESPECT LOCAL ORDINANCES/LAWS: follow ALL local ordinances/laws, including those related to noise, fireworks, and public gatherings; be mindful of your neighbors and respectful of community spaces.

🚨 EMERGENCY: if you have an emergency ... call 911; if you need non-emergency assistance ... call the Public Safety Center at (361) 729-1111; Telecommunications Officers & Peace Officers are available 24/7.

Memorial Day is more than just a long weekend; it’s a time for us to come together as a community and pay our respects to those who have given their lives for our freedoms.

The Fulton Police Department wishes everyone a safe and reflective Memorial Day weekend.

Thank you for joining us in honoring our fallen heroes.
