ROCKPORT CRIME SPREE ENDS IN ARREST
May 5th, 2026
ROCKPORT, TX โ On May 5, 2026, at approximately 12:46 p.m., Rockport Police Department (RPD) officers responded to a residence in the 300 block of South 6th Street regarding a burglary of a habitation. Information was obtained at the scene, including a suspect description.
At approximately 2:15 p.m., RPD officers responded to the 2800 block of Business 35 North in reference to a burglary of a vehicle. While investigating that incident, a victim approached an officer and reported that her vehicle had just been stolen. At the same time, another victim reported a burglary of a habitation in the 300 block of South 7th Street.
Information regarding the stolen vehicle was broadcast, and the Fulton Police Department located the vehicle unoccupied in the 500 block of S Fulton Beach Road at approximately 2:43 p.m.
At approximately 2:51 p.m., a call was received reporting another stolen vehicle in the 2200 block of Cape Charles Drive. The vehicle description was broadcast, and the owner was able to track the vehicleโs location. The owner reported the vehicle traveling near Jamaica Drive and Bayshore Drive.
At approximately 2:55 p.m., another caller reported a suspicious person attempting to open doors at a residence on Jamaica Drive. At approximately 3:00 p.m., a perimeter was established by responding law enforcement agencies, including the Rockport Police Department, Fulton Police Department, Aransas County Sheriffโs Office, and Texas Parks and Wildlife.
At approximately 3:05 p.m., a final call was received reporting a possible suspect location on Riviera Drive. Law enforcement responded, and at approximately 3:08 p.m., (Cont.) the suspect was located inside the residence and taken into custody. Although the scene has been cleared, the investigation remains ongoing.
The suspect, Jonathan Allen Music, 32, of Corpus Christi, has been transported to the Aransas County Jail, where he is being held pending multiple charges. No mugshot available at time of release.
