Concrete was poured last night at the base of the new raw water intake at Gallatin Public Utilities’ Water Treatment Plant. The intake is being constructed along the Cumberland River and will include a concrete-lined wet well approximately 50 feet deep.

The project will eventually connect the new intake to the existing Water Treatment Plant and increase the City’s raw water intake capability to 24 million gallons per day. This will strengthen Gallatin’s water infrastructure and the reliability of the Cumberland River as a regional water source.

MERRY PEP RALLY EVE TO ALL WHO CELEBRATE! ✨

Yes, that’s a Christmas wreath. 🎄
No, it’s not for the Pep Rally. 😅

While the Square may be decked in a little green and red this week, the colors for the Pep Rally are still those of GHS, LCHS, and SCHS!

Good news: Gallatin will be featured in another promotional photoshoot for a national brand.

Bad news: It got scheduled the same day as our 2nd Annual Gallatin Pep Rally. 🫠

We’re closing the streets at 4 TOMORROW and busting a move to bring in all the fun for a special evening for our schools, businesses, and families. Thanks to volunteers for helping us make it happen.

The real MVPs: Gallatin Public Works crew for helping us get the streets set up for the fun - and the poles decked for Christmas a little early. Give them a big “THANK YOU” in the comments for all they do, all year long.

See you on the square - THURSDAY 8/13 at 6:30pm!

We shot video this morning of the flowers blooming throughout the downtown streetscapes after Alecia Welbern, Gallatin’s “Flower Lady,” suggested we capture them before the next stretch of hot weather.

A big thank-you to Alecia and everyone in Public Works for keeping these beautiful pollinators looking their best.
