SPRING FLUSHING 2026
The Georgetown Water Department (GWD) will be conducting the spring segment of its semi-annual flushing program. A consistent flushing program is part of our water system maintenance and is intended to help improve water quality and extend infrastructure life. Water main flushing will begin on Monday, April 20, 2026. Flushing will continue for approximately 4 weeks on weekdays only between the hours of 9:00 am and 2:00 pm....

GEORGETOWN -- The Georgetown Water Department is currently at the scene of a water main break, and crews are actively working to make repairs. Crews responded shortly after 6 p.m. to the area around East Main Street and Penn Brook Avenue. Georgetown Water staff and contractors are working to excavate the area and isolate the break before making repairs. Residents in the immediate area may notice low water pressure or no water service until the break is fully repaired. The Water Department will provide updates as repairs progress. # # #

Georgetown Water reports that on Wednesday, Aug. 27, a gate valve patch repair will take place at 244 Andover St. The repair is scheduled from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. Andover Street will be closed off for one-way traffic only during repairs, and police will be on-site conducting traffic. Residents and community members are asked to plan their travel accordingly, obey posted signage, or avoid the area during this time. Georgetown Water thanks residents for their patience and understanding.
