I attended the memorial service for Caldwell County Deputy Constable Aaron Armstrong, which served as a somber reminder of the inherently hazardous nature of law enforcement work, and Deputy Armstrong was honored with full ceremonial honors as a line-of-duty death.

Grateful to Central Texas JPCA for hosting an informative meeting and session today. Thank you Bronson Tucker from the Justice Court Training Center for speaking on Evictions and Squatters. The training was excellent and the discussion was much needed.

We wrapped up the meeting on a lighter note. After seeing the stunning candy-wrapper artwork during the JPCA opening ceremony in El Paso this summer, Judge Evelyn McLean and Judge Sylvia Holmes decided to take on an art challenge of their own.

Their offices each created holiday pieces made entirely of candy wrappers, and the members voted. Judge McLean claimed bragging rights this year in the fierce competition!
