Kindergarten Community Helpers Day! 🚔🚨

Our kindergartners had an unforgettable Community Helpers Day last Thursday! Members of the Grand Junction Police Department, Mesa County Sheriff’s Office, and Colorado State Patrol visited campus for a hands-on experience our littlest Eagles won’t forget.

Students explored patrol vehicles, tested out sirens, lights, and speakers, and even got to sit inside the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office tactical vehicle. We are so grateful for our partnership with local law enforcement and the vital role they play in keeping our students and community safe. A huge thank you to these dedicated men and women for taking the time to connect with our littlest Eagles!

🧵💙 Jean Day Fundraiser – Friday, September 11!

Students in grades K–12 can wear jeans for just $3 to support our seniors' spring trip to Italy! 🇮🇹 It's a fun, easy way to show school spirit while helping our seniors make lasting memories.

💰 Money can be turned in now through September 11
📍 K–6: classroom teachers | 7–8: Mrs. Klepzig (MS building) | 9–12: front office

Our High School Outdoor Education Club has been busy! Check out the photos from two recent OEC adventures: the Flume Canyon Hike and ambassador training at CMU. From new friendships to new experiences, our Eagles are exploring, learning, and growing outside the classroom!

Wednesday just got sweeter! 🍫✨ Our admin team surprised staff with a snack cart today as a small “thank you” for everything they do for our Caprock Academy students and families.

Little gestures, big appreciation. Our staff is the heart of this school!

This is the last week to support our High School Soccer team while enjoying a refreshing after-school treat. Students will be selling Otter Pops in the horseshoe, after care, staff kids and parking lot starting at 3:00 pm, Wednesday August 26th.

Otter Pops will be available for 2 for $1, making it an easy and fun way to support the team. All proceeds from this fundraiser will go directly toward supporting the high school soccer program.

We invite students and families to stop by, cool down, and show their support. Thank you for helping our athletes continue to grow, compete, and represent Caprock Academy with excellence.

Community Helpers in Action: A Visit from Central Library

Our kindergarten students are learning about community helpers in social studies! Mr. Kelan from Central Library visited the classroom today to explain how public libraries support their communities.

Students discovered that libraries offer much more than books. They can borrow games, movies, audiobooks, museum passes, and even robots! They also learned about story times, puppet shows, computers, gardening opportunities, and after-school snacks.

Grilling Up a Stronger School Community!

Our 7–12 students kicked off the school year with a Cohesion Event focused on building connections, strengthening our school community, and starting the year together. Even Mr. Goodbar joined the fun, firing up the grill and serving hot dogs to our students!

Events like these give students and staff an opportunity to connect outside the classroom and help foster the strong sense of community that makes Caprock Academy special.
