Western Colorado Botanical Gardens

Western Colorado Botanical Gardens Explore 3 acres of garden, ponds,
2 indoor tropical rainforests, butterflies, turtles & tortoises. Western Colorado Botanical Gardens was founded in 1997.

We have a Butterfly Pavilion, Rainforest and multiple outdoor gardens. In 2012, Strive, a local non-profit organization took over management of the Gardens. Since the takeover, there has been a huge growth in its work program at the gardens, where the clients needing vocational experience train in both paid and volunteer capacities at the gardens gift shop or on the 15-acre grounds. (Strive offers numerous services for clients who have a broad range of developmental issues.)

Our Voodoo Lily is open for the next few days, come down and see it while you get a chance!
Cousin to the Co**se flower, it releases a "rotting flesh" odor to attract carcass eating insects that pollinate it. After a few days it closes back up, so now is a chance to see it while it's open!

The Western Colorado Botanical Gardens adopted Frankie, an African Sulcata tortoise who has made his home here for about a year and a half. Unfortunately, we are looking for someone to adopt him as he has grown too big for us. Please reach out to us if you or someone else would be able to give him a loving home. Frankie is approximately 2-4 years old ๐Ÿข โค๏ธ

Our second annual Winter at the Gardens: Blue Lights at the Botanical was a beautiful, memorable, success; bringing joy and happiness to hundreds of people.

We want to thank the many people who helped make this event possible. Thank you to Retirement Outfitters, LLC for sponsoring this huge event. We'd also like to extend our appreciation to Valley Auto Sales for a sponsoring the live ice carving, which was a huge highlight for families to watch, see, and even be an interactive experience!

We are so grateful for the talented artists who came to carve the ice sculptures - David Smith of FROST LION Ice Plus and W***y Tuz - who transformed our blue lights into an elevated experience with amazing creativity and craftsmanship.

We hope everyone has a magical Christmas and we will see you all next week!
