Tomorrow is Giving Tuesday 💛

I saw this comment recently and it reminded me why YPEC matters:

"YPEC saved me and my baby girl at Skyline 28 years ago and taught me how to be a mother! thankful that this amazing program still helps young mothers ❤️😊"

Friendsgiving at YPEC 🧡🍂

Last week we took a little time to slow down and share a meal together, and it was just what we needed. There is something really special about sitting around good food, laughing, and enjoying the moment as a YPEC family.

We are so thankful for our amazing staff, our sweet children, and the families who trust us every day. Full plates, full hearts, and lots to be grateful for. 🦃✨

This is Shayla, one of the very first young moms Deidra ever worked with at YPEC. She was just 14 when she got pregnant and 15 when her baby arrived. Deidra still remembers how tiny that baby was it’s funny how certain things stay with you.

Shayla could have easily been a lost child with a child if she hadn’t found her place here at YPEC, surrounded by women who truly cared about her, her baby, and her future. It took some time to build trust, but once she knew we were here to support her success as both a parent and a student, she was all in.

Yesterday, Shayla stopped by to grab some books for her children and check in with Deidra just like old times. The years may pass, but the bond remains the same. Shayla knows she’ll always have a place here, no matter how much time goes by.

Today we celebrate the simple acts that make the biggest difference kindness.
Whether it’s a parent reading one more story at bedtime, a teacher offering encouragement, or a community member showing support kindness shapes the world our children grow up in.

At the Young Parents Education Center, we see kindness every day through the love young parents show their children and the compassion our community gives in return. Together, we’re building a kinder world, one family at a time.

Moments like this remind us why we do what we do. Watching a young mama read to her baby both thriving, learning, and growing together fills our hearts.

We’re so lucky to have them as part of our YPEC family, and so grateful for a community that wraps around them with love and support.

Meadow Gold Dairy will be giving away free milk on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at the North 40 parking lot on 10th Avenue South.

🎃 Our little ones had the best time trick-or-treating through the halls yesterday 👻

Thank you to all the teachers and staff who joined in on the fun and helped make the day so special. Seeing our children, parents, and teachers all smiling and celebrating together was the sweetest treat of all! 🍬🧡

🎨🧡 Pumpkin painting fun at YPEC!

Our little artists got creative today decorating their own pumpkins — paint everywhere and smiles all around! These hands-on activities help children explore colors, textures, and self-expression while having so much fun. 🍂🎃
