The Annual MDA Boot Drive is this weekend and Local 2928 firefighters will be out collecting all weekend at local Publix stores raising money for families and children battling Muscular Dystrophy.

🚒 The bags are packed!

We’re getting ready for the Palm Beach County Children’s Fire Safety Festival, happening September 14–17! This incredible week brings together fire rescue agencies, health care partners and community organizations to teach local children about fire safety, prevention and emergency preparedness.

This year, we’re welcoming 825 students from 8 schools:
📚 Day 1: 1 school — 105 students
📚 Day 2: 3 schools — 358 students
📚 Day 3: 4 schools — 362 students

The festival is a true community collaboration between Palm Beach County Fire Rescue, Boca Raton Fire Rescue, Delray Beach Fire Rescue, Palm Beach Gardens Fire Rescue, West Palm Beach Fire Rescue, the Healthcare District of Palm Beach County, Palm Beach Health Network and UHealth Jackson Miami Burn Center.

A lot of teamwork goes into making this happen, and it’s all for one important goal: keeping our kids safe.

Yesterday, the City of Greenacres Fire Rescue Department were presented with a $6,806 check through Florida’s Firefighter Cancer Decontamination Grant Program, helping provide equipment and supplies designed to reduce firefighters’ exposure to cancer-causing chemicals.

We’re grateful for this investment in the health and safety of our Greenacres Fire Rescue team!
