Calling all little patriots! Join us for the Kids 4th of July Bike Parade at Greenville Consolidated School on July 4th at 9:00am!
*line up begins at 8:45

♥️💙🤍Decorate your bikes, wagons, scooters, or ride-on toys in your most festive red, white, and blue decorations and help kick off Independence Day with a fun-filled parade around the school grounds!

Janine's adventure perfectly captures what Moose Mainea is all about—exploring, discovering, and making unforgettable memories in the Moosehead Lake Region.

When asked about her experience, she shared:

"I had THE.MOST.FUN doing this! I stalked a beaver lodge—and ended up with a big fat nothing, but I saw a moose and then thought outside the box and found true Moosehead gems 💎. So all in all, had myself a weekend! Great small businesses, good trails, & quality peeps! ⛰️"

Ben Emory’s talk on canoes reflects his deep knowledge of boats; love of the land and water; and interest in the relationship between people and the natural world. You will learn about: The geological and cultural context of the origins and early history of the canoe; the native Americans’ fascinating use of materials and construction methods; the arrival of the Europeans and their impressions of canoes; and the subsequent history of this unique vessel including modern construction techniques, canoe building in Maine, and more. Come enjoy hearing about what makes a canoe so beautiful and special!

Ben Emory of Bar Harbor brings extensive canoeing experience, a lifetime on saltwater boats, and a strong interest in boat design. Last year, he taught an Acadia Senior College course on canoes in Maine. His professional and volunteer work in land conservation spans decades, serving on the staff and board of the Maine Coast Heritage Trust and the Land Trust Alliance, which he co-founded. He has also served on local land trust boards, the Land for Maine’s Future Board, and the Acadia National Park Advisory Commission. A former Navy destroyer officer, he is the author of Sailor for the Wild: On Maine, Conservation and Boats. He is also a small investor in the conservation-minded ownership group that purchased Scammon Ridge (Greenville) and is married to Karin Tilberg, known in the Greenville community for her career in forest conservation

🌅 Sunrise Paddle on a Hidden Cove
Skip the busy shoreline and launch a kayak or paddleboard at dawn. The lake is often glass-smooth, loons are calling, and there's a good chance you'll have entire coves to yourself.
🥾 Hike to a Fire Tower
Many visitors climb the popular mountains, but fewer seek out historic fire towers. The views stretch for miles over the North Woods and feel like stepping back in time.
🌲 Forest Bathing in the Maine Woods
Find a quiet trail and intentionally slow down. No destination, no fitness goal—just walking, listening, and noticing. Moosehead's vast forests are perfect for this Japanese-inspired practice known as "Shinrin-yoku."
🧺Pack a picnic & drive heading towards Rockwood or Beaver Cove until you find a unique quiet spot to pull over and enjoy! Grab local goodies for a Northern Charcuterie day.
