AUGUSTA, MAINE – Based on initial results of the first-choice votes in the Primary Election, the Department of the Secretary of State announced today the following races will proceed to ranked choice voting tabulation after no candidate achieved a majority of first-choice votes cast:

Attached are the Final Returns for the State of Maine Primary Election and the RSU 2 School Budget Validation Referendum.

A heartfelt thank you to the 1,134 Hallowell voters who took the time to participate in this election. With a voter turnout of 56%, Hallowell achieved an outstanding level of participation, especially for a Primary Election.

I would also like to extend my sincere appreciation to our dedicated Election Clerks whose hard work, professionalism, and commitment helped make Election Day a tremendous success. Their efforts ensure that every election is conducted smoothly and efficiently.

A special thank you as well to the Hallowell Public Works Department for their assistance transporting equipment and supplies and helping with the setup and breakdown of the polling location. Their support is an essential part of a successful election.

The City of Hallowell is fortunate to have such a wonderful team of employees and volunteers who work together to make these important civic events run seamlessly. Thank you all for your dedication, teamwork, and service to our community. See you all again in November!
