We are gracious hosts of the Penobscot County Fire Academy today for their car fire classroom and practical evolutions in Hampden.

If folks are conducting business at the Town Office you’ll notice an increase in parking spaces utilized however the office is open as normal. And if smoke and emergency vehicles are seen in the ~800 block of Western Ave, near the Snowmobile Club, we will be performing training evolutions throughout the day.

Our police and fire crews recently wrapped up an incredible week at the Public Safety Youth Academy!

For five days, a group of dedicated 6th–8th graders dove into the world of public safety. They got hands-on experience with crime scene investigations, first aid, firefighting, and emergency medical services to see what these careers are all about. A major highlight was a field trip to the Penobscot County facilities, where students toured the Jail, Sheriff’s Office, and Regional Communications Center.

A huge thank you to all the students who joined us. For our very first year, the academy was a resounding success—everyone walked away with valuable new skills and plenty of great memories!
