⛈️Strong storms can leave behind dangerous conditions for crews, first responders, and the public.🌪️

Nishnabotna Valley REC encourages members to prepare ahead of time and remain cautious during and after severe weather events.

Keep mobile devices charged, monitor changing conditions closely, and never approach damaged electrical equipment or downed power lines.

A little preparation can go a long way when severe weather impacts our communities.

📣 CALLING ALL TEACHERS: Earn professional development credits while learning about the critical role lignite coal plays in our region's energy mix.

The Lignite Energy Council (LEC) will hold its annual Teacher Seminar at Bismarck State College from June 8 to 11, 2026. Thanks to LEC and Basin Electric Power Cooperative housing, meals, and travel expenses are covered for Iowa teachers.

In addition to educational presentations, teachers will get to tour various energy production sites.

Seating is limited, and applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
