Monday, August 31, 2026, at approximately 1517hrs., the station, along with the engine company from Sta. 47 were alerted for the residential structure fire in the unit block of High St. Units responded and arrived on scene to find a single story, frame constructed, single family dwelling with reports of smoke coming from an outlet. Crews investigated and quickly found an active fire inside the walls of the residence. Command upgraded the alarm, adding mutual aid from Sta. 42, Sta. 52 and Sta. 78. Rescue 52 arrived on scene, supplementing crews operating on both the interior and exterior of the structure, assisting with extinguishment, searches and ventilation. Other remaining responding units were returned when command placed the incident under control. Crews remained on scene conducting overhaul of the area of origin. All units returned a short time later, turning the scene back over to the property owner.

Thursday, August 27, 2026, at approximately 2203hrs., the station, along with Sta. 78 (Greenwood) was alerted to assist Sta. 47 with a barn fire in the unit block of Flat Iron Rd. Officer 50-16 arrived on scene, finding a large barn, with fire showing throughout, with exposures. Units arrived and quickly deployed multiple hose lines and began attacking the fire. Command requested the master stream from Tower 50 be utilized to assist with suppression efforts as well as a tanker task force to assist with water supply. Once the bulk of the fire was knocked down, command placed the incident under control and crews remained on scene for several hours conducting overhaul. Officer In Charge: Farmington Fire Co. Asst. On Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at approximately 0618hrs., the station along with Sta. 48 (Felton), Kent County Paramedics and Delaware State Police Aviation were alerted for the MVC with reported entrapment at the intersection of S. DuPont Hwy. and Hopkins Cemetery Rd. Due to Rescue 50 and Squad 48 both being out of service, additional rescue resources were dispatched, adding Sta. 52 (Houston) and Sta. 47 (Farmington) for their rescues. Units responded and arrived on scene to find one subject trapped. Crews quickly stabilized the vehicle and removed both driver side doors to gain access. Once the doors were removed, the patient was removed from the vehicle and moved to the awaiting ambulance for further evaluation. Two patients were transported from the scene to a nearby medical facility for further treatment while another subject refused treatment. Monday, August 17, 2026, at approximately 1545hrs., the station, along with Kent County Paramedics and Delaware State Police Aviation were alerted for an MVC involving a motorcycle at the intersection of S. DuPont Hwy. and Paradise Alley Rd. Dover Police Dept. had officers in the area and arrived on scene quickly and began rendering assistance. Units responded and arrived on scene to find a multi vehicle crash involving two passenger vehicles and a motorcycle. The motorcyclist was treated on scene and was initially going to be flown to a local trauma center; however, was taken by ground to a nearby facility. Remaining subjects on scene were evaluated, with one being transported BLS to a nearby medical facility and the others refusing treatment. Command placed the incident under control a short time later and all units returned. Officer In Charge: Assistant Fire Chief Mark Scribner II.

Thursday, August 13, 2026, at approximately 0127hrs., the station was alerted for the MVC with unknown injuries on Little Mastens Corner Rd., in the area of Paradise Alley Rd. Harrington units responded and arrived to find a single vehicle crash, with the vehicle leaving the roadway, striking a tree and trapping the occupant. With the confirmation of the subject trapped, the call was upgraded adding ALS, aviation and the next due rescue company. Crews quickly stabilized the vehicle, removed the doors and roof, as well as the “B” post on both sides to free the trapped driver. Once the subject was extricated, the patient was moved to an awaiting ambulance where they were further evaluated and then transferred to the aviation unit which then transported the subject to a trauma center for further treatment. Command placed the incident under control a short time later and units cleared the scene. Officer In Charge: Asst. Fire Chief Kevin Galyean.

We would like to take the opportunity to recognize and thank one of our community members. Early everyday, this individual can be found walking his two beautiful Labrador Retrievers through our parking lot/property. Every single day, not only can this person can be found picking up after their dogs, but they also pick up trash and other discarded items whether it be in the parking lot, pond side or anywhere in between. This person doesn’t do it for the accolades or praises. They do it because that is the type of person they are. A long time community member, this person over the years has dedicated many hours volunteering, whether it was umpiring games at the little league or as recently picking up discarded trash on our property. Mr. Stagg we know you don’t do any of it for the recognition, but simply because you want to help. We see you and we greatly appreciate you! Thank you for your continued support of the fire company. Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at approximately 0758hrs., the station, along with Kent County EMS and Delaware State Police Aviation were alerted for the MVC involving a rollover at the intersection of S. DuPont Hwy. and Fairground Rd. Units responded and arrived to find a two vehicle crash with one vehicle overturned and the occupant still inside, as well as an injured subject in the upright vehicle. Crews quickly stabilized the overturned vehicle utilizing cribbing and struts, then removed the patient. Both patients were evaluated on scene by EMS. One patient was transported by ambulance with ALS interventions to a nearby medical facility and the second patient was flown to a trauma center for further treatment. Over the last 10 days, members and career staff have been providing Fire and EMS coverage for the annual Delaware State Fair. As part of our first due response area, the Harrington Fire Company is responsible for providing service to approximately 350,000 patrons, exhibitors and staff annually throughout the 10 day event. This year, members and career staff remained busy, handling 40 fire calls for service and 200 EMS calls for service. These calls ranged from fire alarms, gas leaks, structure fires, MVC’s, as well as several other miscellaneous calls for Fire/Rescue operations and serious medical emergencies to minor medical emergencies for EMS operations.

We would like to thank the Delaware State Fair staff and patrons for trusting us to provide coverage while everyone enjoyed the fair in its entirety. We would also like to thank our mutual aid companies for their assistance when requested for alarms and events held throughout the 10 days. See everyone in 2027!

Friday, July 31, 2026, at approximately 1716hrs., the station, along with Kent County EMS and Delaware State Police Aviation were alerted for the high velocity MVC involving a motorcycle on S. DuPont Hwy., in the area of Williamsville Rd. Units quickly responded and arrived on scene to find a single motorcycle rider lost control of his bike and was ejected from same during the crash. EMS crews quickly evaluated the patient and determined he needed to be airlifted to a trauma center for the best possible treatment. A short time later, Delaware State Police Aviation arrived and initiated transported to the trauma center. Command placed the incident under control and units returned. Friday, July 31, 2026, at approximately 1046hrs., the station, along with Kent County EMS and Delaware State Police Aviation were alerted for the MVC, reported tractor trailer versus a passenger vehicle with possible ejection and a subject in cardiac arrest at the intersection of S. DuPont Hwy. and Fairground Rd. Command 50 arrived within 2 minutes of dispatch, confirming the initial reports. Station 47 (Farmington) had just returned to their station from a previous call and offered assistance, with command requesting they respond in to assist. Responding units quickly arrived on scene and confirmed the ejected subject from the passenger vehicle to be deceased. The driver of the tractor trailer was evaluated on scene and transported BLS to a nearby medical facility with minor injuries. Command placed the incident under control a short time later, returning Fire/EMS units and turning the scene over to the Harrington Police Dept. and Delaware State Police for further investigation. Fire Police and DelDOT remained on scene to assist with traffic. Officer In Charge: Deputy Fire Chief Robbie Brode.
