This evening (8/18), Cumberland Water Rescue & Recovery Team will be conducted a night time dive training at Spring Lake Beach. This will be a shore based drill to practice search patterns and become familiar with the area. There is NO emergency, and a mannequin my be used to simulate a victim. Thank you, and stay safe.

Harrisville firefighter, and Clear River Electric and Water's General Manager, William Guertin awarded the Charles H. Goss Good Neighbor Award.

Happy to announce that CREW's General Manager, William Guertin was awarded the Charles H. Goss Good Neighbor Award at the Rhode Island Good Neighbor Energy Fund this morning! The Charles H. Goss Good Neighbor Award was established in 1995 to recognize a person, group or organization that has exhibited the outstanding leadership and giving spirit for which the late Mr. Goss was known during the years of his association with the Rhode Island Good Neighbor Energy Fund.

Several new faces were welcomed at July's monthly training! Driver/operators put our brush trucks' pumps through their paces. While members of all experience levels worked on team cohesion while reviewing ground ladder fundamentals.

🌞 ⚠️ This year's first heat event is around the corner! We urge all residents to take measures to stay safe and healthy during this time of extreme heat.
•Avoid strenuous or prolonged outdoor activity and remain properly hydrated both BEFORE and AFTER spending time in the sun.
•Be mindful that muscle cramping and increased exhaustion are often early warning signs of heat related illness.
•IMMEDIATE medical attention is needed for anyone who displays a change in mental status, confusion, or other neurological symptom.
•Lastly, never leave a child or pet unattended in a motor vehicle, and please check in on elderly relatives and neighbors during this time. Thank you and stay safe!

The Jesse Smith Library at 100 Tinkham Ln will be designed as a public cooling center.

Sat - 9am-1pm (CLOSED FOR THE 4TH)

Anything worth doing, is worth over-doing for the sake of training! After our office's flag pole received some much needed TLC, members took the opportunity to review powered winch operation and safety while raising the pole into place.

Today members of the Cumberland Water Rescue & Recovery Team showcased their capabilities at North Smithfield Reservoir. This team, along with Smithfield Fire Department, are the primary assets responding to all water related emergencies in Harrisville. HFD currently has two divers responding with this team.
