We are looking for bids to remodel the "storefront" of the new Extension Office building on the square. We are so impressed by the great job so many business owners have done with their storefronts on the square and want to improve our spot as well!
There is a picture of what we have in mind in the Judge's office at the courthouse if you are interested in putting in a bid.

📢Bids will be accepted in the Judge's office through June 30th.

(There was a notice in the paper a few weeks ago stating today as last day to enter bids but we are extending the deadline.)

It has come to the Sheriff’s Office attention that a young female driver was shopping at Stamford Walmart when she saw a sticker on her front hood. That is known as BAITING or MARKING!!! Please pay attention of your surroundings and if you may think you’re being targeted then please call 911 or 940-864-2345.

We’ve been receiving a lot of calls, texts, and emails regarding the data center projects in Haskell County. It’s clear there are many questions. While these projects are located in the County, they will still have an impact on our City, and we want to make sure our community has clear, accurate information.

County Judge Kenny Thompson and I are working together to gather your questions and create a comprehensive FAQ that addresses concerns across the board: city-related, county-related, tax-related, etc. Our goal is to put reliable information all in one place so everyone has access to the same answers.

We kindly ask that you send your questions directly to our email addresses so we can keep track of them and ensure nothing gets missed. If you’ve already commented on my posts emailed me or sent a Facebook message, I will make sure those questions are included as well; same for Judge Thompson.

Attention Haskell County:

I would like to update you on the status of the negotiations related to Farm to Market roads within the county, specifically referring to FM 618 and FM 600.
First and foremost, I would like to make sure you understand; if a road is a FM (Farm to Market) road then it is NOT maintained by the county.
The county does not determine how or when these roads are repaired or otherwise. FM roads are maintained by the state through TXDOT. Your local TXDOT workers have done everything they can to work on these roads when they were allotted time and funds by the state to do so.
In the county's opinion, the state at much higher levels than your local office was not prepared for these projects. We encourage you to direct your thoughts on that to your state representatives.

What the county has done is consistently and passionately communicated with TXDOT on your behalf. We have been pushing for an agreement between the state and Google for months. We want to communicate facts to you about this instead of rumors you might be hearing from other sources. Google wants to fix FM 600 and FM 618 for us, but there were hoops to jump and red tape to cross. Your county officials, the Google executives, and TXDOT have had numerous conversations and worked very hard on this situation. We drive the roads with you and are very concerned with you!

Now, I would like to report that an agreement between TXDOT and Google has been reached! In my most recent conversation with TXDOT they told me they are hopeful to have all the documentation in place and be able to begin the work on May 1st.
I am not referring to a patch job either. These repairs will be sustainable and on-going if necessary to ensure we do not continue to face the dangerous situation we have currently.

Please know that your county officials have been tirelessly working to better serve you and take care of our community.
