As you gear up for the Opening Game of the Huskers, you are probably making sure you have everything you need. A new and bigger TV to get the game and updates, snacks, new Big Red T-shirts for everyone, maybe even a mega-phone to yell when they do good and bad.

Maybe, you should take the same interest in preparing for emergencies! Buy a NOAA weather radio to get weather updates, Snacks for your Shelter Space, Spare clothes in case the tornado takes your dresser.... Keep the Mega-Phone, you may need to yell for help!

Turn on your headlights!

Did you know that your daytime running lights may seem like your lights are on but your tail lights aren't on. Manually turn on your lights.

You would have gotten away with it, if it wasn't for that pesky Emergency Manager!!

If SEVERE Weather happens while you are sleeping, how are you notified?

- Outdoor Warning Sirens are not meant to wake you.
- A Silenced Cell Phone won't
- A Snoring partner just sounds like Thunder all the time!

When a storm arrives in the middle of the night, have a way to receive alerts.

1. A NOAA Weather radio will sound a LOUD alarm alerting you.

2. If you silence your cellphone, turn ON NOTIFICATIONS specifically for your weather warning app.

3. Watch the weather on local media before you go to bed so you can be prepared.
