The Brookline Crew and Board were proud to sponsor Chris Cahill and Bob Ciotti, who completed the 39th Ben to the Shore 65 mile charity bike ride on Sunday July 26th. The ride began at the base of the Ben Franklin Bridge in Philly and ended at the Showboat Casino in Atlantic City. Hosted by Families Behind the Badge Children’s Foundation, the Ben to the Shore Bike Tour is a charity bike ride that raises money to provide necessary financial relief to the families of fallen or critically injured first responders; to cultivate positive interactions and relationships between first responders and the communities they serve; and to provide mental and emotional wellbeing resources to first responders and their families. More than 2000 cyclists participated raising over $1.3 million for the foundation. Congratulations Chris and Bob!

Just before 9pm on Thursday the Company was dispatched for a house fire in the beechwood section of the district along with Stations 34 (Llanerch), 56 (Manoa), Montco 21 (Penn Wynne), 108 (Narberth EMS), and Haverford Police. As Chief and Deputy 35A arrived and reported smoke in the house a fire was found in the walls of the stairwell leading to the 2nd floor.

Foam 35 arrived and dropped a supply line into the scene and stretched an attack line inside. The fire was contained with an extinguisher with minimal extension to the residence. Ladder 35 ventilated the home, and power was secured and restored to the residence.

Shortly following the company was dispatched to assist peco with a tree on fire following an issue with power lines. Crews contained the fire and soaked the area down once it was deemed safe by peco.

Thank you to our mutual aid companies for their response and assistance restoring the apparatus.

Last evening members traveled to the HTBF training center for live fire training. We were joined by the Manoa Fire Company - Station 56 & Oakmont Fire Company to cover various fireground operations including, ground ladder placement, fire attack, search & rescue, and apparatus operator training.

Our training center is located at the end of the Merry Place walking trail and has been a valuable asset to the fire companies of Haverford Township. We are fortunate for the support we receive from the Township Commissioners to keep this facility available for training.

This drill was well attended by nearly a dozen Probationary and Junior members who are in the beginning phases of membership at their respective fire companies. If you are interested in joining please feel free to message this page, or stop by the station on Monday nights at 730 to learn more about becoming a member!

A special thank you to Stapes_Captures for all but the first 5 photos. Please be sure to check out his instagram page for more content including photos from area sports leagues.
