You know what I hate? Rising property taxes for our fixed income seniors. Next Tuesday, September 1st, is the last day to apply for county Senior Property tax relief. Summit county has this program as well. Qualifications and more info can be found in my bio.

We need to address property taxes in the Wasatch back and across the state. Don’t miss Tuesday’s deadline and this November, vote Luke Searle for real tax relief.

I’ve honestly been shocked at the unprecedented threats made against Wasatch County. So let me make this clear.

Wasatch, I have your back. I believe in local control and my fight is to make sure our communities and the facts are represented. We have not broken any laws or are advocating to do so.

We are firm in our opposition to preliminary municipalities. Without changes to the law, we could see nearly a dozen more created without the infrastructure needed to support them. They clearly won’t solve our affordable housing problems, and they undermine local decision-making and responsible planning for growth.

This applies to all of the Wasatch Back. We need to find a resolution with the state and we are meeting with them to do just that. I will to work hard to get this fixed.

A representative for Gov. Spencer Cox said the governor is threatening to withhold state funding from Wasatch County. Steve Waldrip, senior adviser for housing strategy on the governor’s staff, shared that message from Cox with the Heber City Council this week. The threat followed two recent dec....
