Hemlock Middle School

Hemlock Middle School Welcome to the Hemlock Middle School page! Kids First! This page is to update students and parents as to the coming events at Hemlock Middle School.

The Hemlock Public Schools District was organized in 1863 and is governed by a seven member board of education elected by the general constituency of the district. The district consists of 120 square miles and is located in five townships that extend into two counties: Saginaw and Midland . Our district has two elementary schools, one middle school and one high school. The school district is locat

ed in the unincorporated community of Hemlock. Most is in rural western Saginaw County . Hemlock has about twelve hundred residences and is located in an agricultural and residential setting. The district currently serves 1,298 students. With a commitment to excellence, we offer our students challenging academics and relevant learning programs. Yet at the same time we believe that education should engage the whole student. Through athletics, drama, technology, music, service learning opportunities and other extracurricular activities, Hemlock Public Schools provides extensive and well-rounded opportunities for all of our students to achieve their full potential. Our underlying philosophy is "Kids First". That means we don't settle for "good enough" because we believe our students, their families and our community deserve nothing less than excellence. We are continually looking for and incorporating opportunities to make education better...as a springboard for life, as preparation for higher education and as a positive learning experience for all of our students. We welcome and strive to maintain open and timely communication with our families. Parents and guardians are encouraged to get involved. We have various volunteer opportunities and parent groups that help build close relationships with school administrators, teachers, coaches, advisors and support staff. We invite you to visit our schools to become familiar with your child's everyday educational environment.

Our middle school cross country team had their first meet of the season yesterday at the Eagle Invite in Carson City.

Our girls team absolutely crushed it at their first meet, taking 2nd place overall and earning a plaque for themselves! Brielle Painter had a strong finish, moving her way into 3rd place, earning a medal, and finishing with a time of 14:02...a new PR and is only a few seconds away from earning her way onto our Top 10 Record Board here at HMS.

Maris Pratt was next for our girls' team, earning a medal by finishing in 5th place with a PR of 14:45.

Also medaling at this meet were Hannah Wizner in 6th place, Maggie Raths in 8th, Lila Stevenson in 11th, Macy Breining in 14th, Lyra Schmidt in 16th, Ruby Kramer in 17th, Avery Johnson in 18th, Amelia Stevenson in 20th, and Ariana Rodriguez in 24th.

Everly Drews narrowly missed out on a medal, finishing in 26th and then rounding out our team was Ellie Wirtz who placed 34th.

The two boys on our team also showed up to compete! Zander Ward ran a tough race and stayed strong the entire time to finish in 2nd place, earning a medal and a new PR of 12:59.

Evan Burg was also a medalist, had a great sprint to the finish and ran a new PR of 16:25 and finished in 14th.

Amazing job to all of our cross country runners!

Do these winning teams sound like something you want to be a part of? It's not too late to join! See Mrs. Bebow if you are interested in joining cross country!

As we get ready to welcome our Huskies back to Hemlock Middle School, we want to make sure morning arrival is safe, smooth, and efficient for everyone. Please take a moment to review our drop-off procedures:

🚗 Morning Drop-Off Reminders
Families using the drop-off loop should follow the red line shown on the map.

• Please pull all the way forward in the drop-off line before stopping.
• Students may exit anywhere along the sidewalk and enter through the main entrance.
• Please have your child ready to exit the vehicle when you reach the drop-off area.
• For safety, students should exit from the right-hand/passenger side of the vehicle.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation, especially during these first few days as everyone settles back into the morning routine. Working together helps us keep arrival safe and efficient for all of our Huskies!

We’re excited to see everyone tomorrow! 💙🐾
