🦟 The spraying will take place following a positive West Nile Virus test and to reduce the number of adult mosquitoes in these areas.

Hoses, wires, and electrical cords beware! 🔌

These items cannot be recycled in curbside bins or SWACO drop-offs - just like plastic bags, hoses, wires, and electrical cords get too easily tangled up in machines at recycling facilities.

Let's keep our recycling facilities running smoothly by being aware of what we're recycling.

✅ SWACO's Recycling Convenience Center is a great resource for certain hard-to-recycle materials. Learn more about what is accepted at the facility: https://www.swaco.org/disposal/facilities/recycling-convenience-center/

Let's give this City a good sweep! 🧹

Starting Tuesday, Sept. 8, street sweeping crews will begin a citywide street sweeping project to clear debris from Hilliard roadways.

Street sweeping will take place on weekdays, excluding trash pickup days, and is expected to take 6-8 weeks to complete.

Street sweeping will begin in the Blue Zone. 🔵 Digital signage will be placed on key residential streets before scheduled sweeping to let residents know when crews will be in their neighborhoods.

Help our street sweepers by:
🚗 Parking in driveways instead of on the street, if possible.
🚙 Moving parked vehicles off the street between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.
🛻 If you have to park on the street, avoid parking over storm drains.
🌳 Keeping brush, branches and limbs out of the street.

Learn more about the project and see a map of the color-coded zones: https://bit.ly/4h9HaUU

Did you know that in SWACO's most recent waste characterization study, 10% of the waste arriving at the landfill each year is cardboard, even though cardboard is recyclable?

Help us keep cardboard out of the landfill by remembering that if you can tear it, you can recycle it!

⚡Hilliard's electric aggregation program is ending in September, and that's intentional.

The City is allowing the current aggregation agreement to expire rather than enter into a new contract without being confident it would offer residents and businesses a competitive rate.

Our goal is to give residents the opportunity to seek the best electricity rates available in the market.

Residents currently enrolled in the program do not need to take any action. They will automatically return to AEP Ohio's default generation supply when the aggregation rate expires and may choose a different supplier if they find a rate or plan that better meets their needs.

Since April 2025, Hilliard's green aggregation program has saved residents nearly $1.6 million compared with AEP's market rate for conventional electricity.

We're proud of those savings and the program's commitment to renewable energy. We'll continue monitoring the electricity market and may restart the aggregation program if conditions become more favorable.
