Friday Night Lights are back!

Throughout the season, our crews will be onsite and ready to respond in case of an emergency while the community cheers from the stands.

Here’s to a safe and exciting football season. Let’s go! 🏈🙌

When our crews arrive on scene, we don’t always know what we’re walking into or what it might take to reach someone who needs help.

That’s why we train with many types of tools, including power saws. Training gives our crews the confidence and skills to quickly make a plan, adapt to the situation and get the job done safely.

You never know what the call will bring, so we train for it all.

Happy National Dog Day to our favorite four-legged team member, Dori! 🐾🚒

Dori is a 6-year-old Bernedoodle and the first Fire Department K9 certified through the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office Training Academy…one of only a few in the country!

From training with local K9 teams to supporting fallen firefighters and their families, local students and our Metro Fire Peer Support Team, Dori has an important job in our community.

We’re pretty lucky to have her on our team! ❤️🐶

Training for when a hydrant isn’t an option! Drafting operations are used when a water supply from a traditional hydrant isn’t available. This is something our crews may encounter when responding in areas where hydrants may be frozen or inaccessible or in rural areas that lack hydrants.

WTFD Engines 92 and 95 are both equipped to draft water, giving our crews another important option when securing a reliable water supply.

It’s all about being prepared to get water where it’s needed to attack a fire as quickly as possible.
