Kickoff the celebration of America's 250th on Thursday, June 25th at 6pm when the Library is pleased to welcome award-winning journalist, author, and longtime Chronicle reporter Ted Reinstein for a talk on his newest book, Greetings from Breed's Hill.

Known for his engaging storytelling and deep appreciation of New England history, Ted will share insights from his latest work, exploring the people, stories, and legacy surrounding one of the nation's most historic landmarks.

Whether you're a history enthusiast, a fan of local stories, or simply enjoy meeting accomplished authors, this is a program you won't want to miss.

Copies of the book will be available for purchase and signing following the presentation.

Thank you to and our participating patrons for creating and maintaining our library garden!

We've been harvesting kale, carrots, snap peas, asian greens, chard, green onion, and more.

You can take home free, fresh, organic vegetables by attending our gardening club on Thursday afternoons from 1-2PM. This club is happening all summer long.

Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day or Emancipation Day, is derived from June 19, 1865 when U.S. Major General Gordon Granger informed the people of Texas that all enslaved persons in the state were now free.

However, full emancipation was not achieved until months later when, on December 6, 1865, the 13th Amendent of the Constitution was ratified, which legally ended chattel slavery in the United States.

Through gentle movement, breathing exercises, music, and stories, families will build connection while learning calming techniques and mindfulness skills together.

0-2 year olds : 10:30 - 11

The Friends of the Holbrook Public Library are hosting a book donation drive on Wednesday June 17 and Saturday June 20! They are especially in need of Mysteries, Fiction and Children's Books!

Please do not bring: encyclopedias, magazines, textbooks, outdated technology, medical or travel books.
