Community Board 8, Queens Community Board 8 Community Boards are local representative bodies. Each board is divided geographically. Queens has 14 Community Boards.

There are 59 Community Boards in the City of New York created by a City Charter amendment in 1975. Community Board 8 is your Community Board if you live within the area bounded by the Long Island Expressway on the north, Hillside Avenue on the south, Van Wyck Expressway on the west, and the Clearview Expressway on the east. The Community Board meets monthly, except in the summer, to discuss co

mmunity issues, monitor government service, and advise city agencies on matters concerning our neighborhoods. CB8 meets the second Wednesday of the month at Hillcrest Jewish Center (183-02 Union Turnpike). Board meetings are open to the public and the public must be allowed to speak during a portion of the meetings. Only Board Members can vote.

There will be a CB8 Transportation Committee and MTA Informational Hearing on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at 7:30p.m.. It will at the Hillcrest Jewish Center - 183-02 Union Turnpike in Fresh Meadows. This is to inform our community about the planned ADA Upgrade the Briarwood and Parsons Blvd. stations.
