Happy East-West Center Day! For today's , take a look at photos from the very first official EWC Day celebration in 1985.
Did you know? Although the East-West Center was founded in 1960, May 14 was not officially proclaimed as "East-West Center Day" until the Center's 25th Anniversary in 1985, when the late Hawaiʻi Governor George R. Ariyoshi issued the proclamation honoring the Center's impact and legacy.
The celebration included a special anniversary cake shared with EWC staff, participants, and their families.
