With extreme heat expected, the Hot Springs Community Resource Center will be serving as a cooling shelter 10 am to 4 pm on Saturday, July 18th, and Sunday, July 19th.

DONATIONS are urgently needed as we prepare for an influx of weekend guests:

💧 Bottled water
🍎 Fresh fruit
🥜 Individually packaged snacks
🧻 Toilet paper

Every donation, no matter the size, helps us care for our neighbors on these very hot summer days.

Donations may be dropped off Monday-Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm at 109 Hobson Avenue (turn the corner at Hobson & Charteroak and enter through the open gate to our parking lot).

TO APPEAL YOUR PROPERTY VALUE:

You have the right to appeal the value of your property to the Garland County Equalization Board.
To make an appointment, call the County Clerk’s Office (501-622-3610) to schedule a time for you to meet with the Equalization Board.
The County Clerk will start taking appointments each year the last 2 weeks of July through the 3rd Monday in August. If you call after the 3rd Monday in August, you will not be able to appeal the property value until the following year.
You have the right to appeal the Equalization Board’s decision to County Court and then to Circuit Court. You must appeal to the equalization Board before proceeding further. Please be patient & understanding as this is a busy time.

If you receive a change of value notice in the mail, please know that the over 65 & disabled “ freeze” do the exact same thing. Both boxes on the notice cannot be checked.
Also, this “freeze” is part of the Homestead Credit. It cannot be given on vacant land or on a property that does not have the Homestead Credit.
