Tomorrow is a Centennial Celebration for Riverside General Hospital — first known as the Houston Negro Hospital when it opened on Juneteenth 1926 — and now reimagined as a modern healthcare hub on Juneteenth 2026.
M2L Associates is proud to be part of the design team that brought this important landmark back to life.
Next Friday, Juneteenth will mark 100 years since Riverside Hospital opened its doors as Houston Negro Hospital, the first nonprofit hospital serving Houston's Black residents at a time when Black doctors were barred from practicing in white hospitals and Black patients were routinely denied care.
On June 19, Harris County will commemorate Riverside's extraordinary history while celebrating its next life as a community health hub and the future headquarters for Harris County Public Health. Next week’s centennial event will feature free Wellness on Wheels health services, a Bike Rodeo, family-friendly activities, and free food boxes while supplies last.
Join us from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. as we honor the past and look toward the future.
