Sign Up Before It's Too Late For Citizens Police Academy

We still have a few spots available for Precinct 5's next Citizens Police Academy, one of the most popular programs offered by the department.

This 10-week course provides our "cadets" with a behind-the-scenes look at Precinct 5, going through much of the same training that our deputies receive while also being able to discuss in depth what is taught. Questions and conversations are encouraged as we move through the course, from use-of-force to arrests, fi****ms training and driving in a real patrol car on an emergency vehicle operations course.

The upcoming class will be held once a week, usually on Thursday evenings, starting on October 1. Most of the classes will be held at our Precinct 5 Command Station, 17423 Katy Freeway near Barker Cypress.

🇺🇸 We Will Never Forget 🇺🇸

Today, we pause to honor the lives lost, the heroes who stepped up without hesitation, and the families forever changed on this day 25 years ago.

As we remember, let us also renew our commitment to unity, resilience, and compassion. The legacy of 9/11 reminds us that even in the face of great loss, our strength as a nation comes from standing together.

May we continue to honor the legacy of those we lost by living with courage, compassion, and unity.

Different Uniforms. One Common Goal

This weekend, our CPA Alumni group had the opportunity to show our appreciation to law enforcement men and women in our area who were working hard to keep our roads safe during this Labor Day Weekend.

While many were enjoying the holiday with family and friends, various agencies were out patrolling, watching for impaired drivers, and working to make sure everyone made it home safely. We were honored to provide them with a meal and some sweet treats as well as snacks before hitting the road.

Different departments, different uniforms, One common goal — keeping our communities and our roads safe.

To those CPA members who volunteered their time to help make this possible — Thank You! 👏 Houston Citizens' Police Academy Alumni Association, Harris County Sheriff's Office Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association, and DPS CPA

Happy Labor Day! 🇺🇸

As we enjoy this Labor Day, let’s take a moment to recognize and appreciate the hard work and dedication of everyone who helps keep our communities moving forward.

Whether you’re spending the day with family and friends, enjoying a BBQ, traveling, or simply relaxing at home, we wish you a safe, and enjoyable Labor Day!

Celebrate Responsibly this Labor Day Weekend! 🇺🇸

As we head into the Labor Day weekend, we want everyone to have a fun, relaxed, and SAFE holiday!

🍻 If you choose to drink, DO NOT DRINK AND DRIVE. Make a plan before you celebrate—designate a sober driver, use a rideshare, or find another safe way home.

🚗 Buckle up. Slow down. Stay alert. Remember, getting home safely is more important than getting home quickly.

One decision can save a life. Don’t let a celebration turn into a tragedy

Let’s look out for one another and help keep our roads safe. Enjoy the long weekend, make some great memories, and most importantly—make it home safely!
