๐๐ Itโs the first day of school for many of our area districts!
That means more traffic, busy school zones, and plenty of buses and families dropping off and picking up children. Please slow down, stay alert, and pack a little extra patience.
A few important reminders:
๐ธ Obey school-zone speed limits and stay off your phone.
๐ When a school bus stops with its red lights flashing, STOP. DO NOT PASS THE BUS unless you are traveling on the opposite side of a roadway separated by a physical barrier or intervening space.
๐ง๐ฝ๐ฆ๐ป Give children plenty of time and space to safely get on or off the bus and cross the roadway.
๐ Remain stopped until the bus resumes motion, the flashing red lights are turned off, or the bus driver signals you to proceed.
These arenโt just good safety practicesโtheyโre the law.
Letโs give ourselves a few extra minutes, show some patience with one another, and do our part to make this a safe, fun, and successful school year for every student.
Have a great first day! ๐๐
