We are honored that the Houston Lady Lions are recognized by the District 2S2 for outstanding service. Special thank you to our HLLC Service Chair Zanta Stroud-Simmons for adding all of services each of our members and then our clubs into the LCI website. The Houston Lady Lions served over 100 families in our community with a service project with out sister Michelle Sterns aka Yahwehs General Joseph House Community Outreach Center today! We walked alongside the seniors and disabled loading their shopping carts. The rest of us helped them bag the food and load it into there cars. They never lifted a finger.some were tearful for the free food. Some of us stayed to eat. LOL Where there is a need there is a Lion. #Icanwewill. 2-S2 Lions Valerie James

Look at PDG Mark Roth in his happiest of places at the Houston Lady Lions Induction and Installation Ceremony. Telling the story of Lionism! The room got goose bumps when he started the Lions gave a vision impaired child his first drum set, that child grew up to be Stevie Wonder! Houston Lady Lions and all of Lionsim cannot know where we are going till we know where we come from.

We making it happen; Joseph's house is the largest pantry community outreach in Texas. When they need us we're there.

Covenant House takes children who have aged out of foster care. When no one adopts them they become homeless. The covenant House does outreach to take them off the street before they become victims of trafficking.
The Houston Lady Lions interviewed the Covenant House. Let them speak for 45 minutes with me writing and listening. Some of the possible services they require? Possible vision and COVID screening.

The Houston Lady Lions were honored to have Governor Lisa Free Martin as our guest speaker for the evening and presented her with a crowned lion which she so deserved. President Lion Valerie kicked off the meeting in person and on zoom.
Followed by Presentation with a Check for 1,000 from the Houston Lady Lions to Chris from The Rose. The Rose provides mammograms for Women and Men who otherwise could not afford them. Such a great cause one that the Houston Lady Lions have proudly supported for the past 7 years.
Governor Lisa presented Lion of the Year to IPP and GMT to Lion Lucy on behalf of the Houston Lady Lions. President Lion Valerie, Vice President Lion Nina, Secretary/Treasurer Lion Chasity, and Lion Michelle were presented pins for all their efforts this year for serving our communities. Future Lion Alejandra joined us as a guest but will be Sponsored by President Lion Valerie once voted in. The food was delicious and service was excellent. Lil Juli's treats were scrumptious as always.

This is a Governor that gives you a platform to excel, and solely because of her leadership, challenges you to do your best! The Houston Lady Lions bug her and she always takes the call and patiently puts us on the right path.

Several Houston Lady Lions Valerie James, Lucy Gonzales were awarded pins for sponsoring new members into Lionism. HLLC Jennifer Boley was awarded $1000 for her District 2S2 park beautification project 31 July 2021.

It was such an honor to partner with the DeGeorge Center at Union Station with Lynda Green, VAST, American Legion Post 490, Auxillary Unit 490, Kings of the Jungle Lions, Heights Lions, Magnolia Lions, District 2-S2 Lions, Gathering of Eagles, Lulac Council 2911, Lil Juli's Treats, Lone Star Warrior Outpost, Wheelchairs for Warriors, Christus US Family Health Plan, Paralyzed Veterans of America, Impac Fleet and so many other great organizations. The true hero's...the greatest generation our WWII veterans. Hector Giron you are simply amazing picking all our heros up to make sure they shared the moment...truly priceless.

Houston Lady Lions want to Congratulate Wheelchairs for Warriors on their Amazing Fundraising Event...A superb cause to say the least...championing our well deserved veterans who are in need of a customized wheelchairs to live their best life. Crystal Laramore, Executive Director of Wheelchairs For Warriors is also a Houston Lady Lion. Myrna Trevino, President of Wheelchairs for Warriors also serves as Director of Health Initiatives for Houston Lady Lions. These two incredible women along with Heidi Henseng, Co-founder of Wheelchairs for Warriors and all their other Rock Star Ambassadors do so much for our veterans. Their Goodwill Youth Ambassador was setting the bar extremely high for all kids to know age doesn't matter when you believe in helping others. Thank you Bayway Chevrolet for hosting the event. Thank you all for allowing us to be your cheerleaders .

Houston Lady Lions Director of News Media was an amazing Emcee. Our WWII Veterans were presented with beautiful Quilts of Valor by the beautiful women of Auxillary Unit 490 led by Cheryl Fountain, the Vietnam Veterans were presented their 50th Anniversary Pins by PDG Rotary Bob Gebhard, Commander Carl Dunn, and Navy Veteran Hector Giron, The Purple Heart Veterans were awarded gifts presented by Auxillary President Dianna Aguilar. Our Strong and Brave Female Veterans were presented gifts and adrressed by Army Veteran Judy Dubose. The most touching gesture handsdown, was the moment our 97 yr old, WWII Veteran Vicente stood to Salute our Female Veterans there was not a dry eye in the room. Every branch was represented. All veterans and soldiers were presented with a certificate of appreciation and recognition of service. There
were active soldiers in attendance as well as National Guard. Honor Guard was Presented by Clear Creek ROTC and Taps were played by Marine Jason Brown. Our National Anthem was sung by our 16 yr old, Youth Ambassador, Sara Aguilar. President of Houston Lady Lions Valerie James welcomed everyone and Commander of American Legion Post 490,John Cronin did the Presentation of POW-MIA. Invocation was offered by President of Lulac 2911 and Director of Community Outreach HLL, Vicki Cruz. Our Amazing DJ Mark and beautiful Ari "G" offered the beautiful music for the evening. Chairman Walt Youngblood offered recognition and moment of silence..about the Iraq/Afghanistan State of Texas Memorial Wall. State Chair New Voices of LCI/Chairperson of Veteran Affairs & Rehabilitation Auxillary Unit 490, Lucy Gonzales presented the World Changers 2021 Award to Dr. Elias Sanchez, Hector Giron, Vicki Cruz, Auxillary Unit 490, and Myrna Trevino. There were rave reviews for the delicious food catered by Tejas Tacos House, Lion Gina Castillo and her veteran and firefighter husband, Juan. The desert table was not only beautifully done but were scrumptious. Vice President Lion Nina of HLL and our Youth Ambassador Juli and owners of Lil Juli's Treats thank you for all the treats. There were over 100 in attendance and next years event is soon to be in the works. This evening was a joint effort that met it's goal of bringing smiles to everyone.
