🦁 MEMBER SPOTLIGHT

Meet Lion Dr. Sherell Harrell, HLLC President, 2026–2027. 💙💛

We're kicking off our Member Spotlight series to get to know the women behind the Houston Lady Lions Club, what inspires them to serve, what service means to them, and the causes that are close to their hearts.

Swipe through to hear directly from Lion Dr. Sherell and get a glimpse into her heart for service, leadership, and HLLC.

Want to read her full responses? 👇

1️⃣ What inspired you to become a member of HLLC?

“My inspiration came from the spirit of empowerment, service, leadership, and offering hope to the hopeless. Each of these gifts allowed me to tap into a deeper calling within myself, and I'm also inspired by like-minded women within HLLC. God desires each of us to respond to the calling to Serve.”

2️⃣ What does serving through HLLC mean to you?

“Serving with HLLC means a great deal to me. I am touched by the beautiful women who share a calling such as myself to lead and serve. Serving to me means sacrifice, stepping outside of oneself to help others, and using your time and talents to creatively support those in need.”

3️⃣ What are you most looking forward to during your year as President?

“The future is extremely bright for HLLC. I'm most excited about service, as well as the development of our three-year HLLC Strategic Plan for 2026–2029 entitled, Champion the Lion Within You: Lead, Serve, & Inspire.”

4️⃣ Is there a service area or cause that is especially meaningful to you?

“I would like to see HLLC do more with the Texas Lions Camp, which I have visited before in Kerrville, Texas. The camp has some tremendous opportunities for service and leadership to support young adolescents on their life journey.”

💙💛 Thank you, Lion Dr. Sherell Harrell, for sharing your heart for service and leadership with us.

🦁 Serving with purpose. 💙💛

Today, the Houston Lady Lions came together for our Donation Boutique Service Project, putting our commitment to service into action.

Our members donated clothing, shoes, jewelry, and accessories to support community members in need. We’re grateful to everyone who gave their time, resources, and heart to make today’s project possible.

We also had the opportunity to recognize Lion Andrea Laster, Third Vice President, as our Lion of the Month! 🦁💙💛

We are asking our Houston Lady Lions members to support the Donation Boutique by donating new and gently worn items for both women and men, including clothing, shoes, jewelry and accessories.

Please make sure all donations are clean, gently worn and in good condition.

💙💛 Serving with Heart. Promoting Health. Supporting Our Veterans. 💛💙

Today, the Houston Lady Lions Club proudly completed our Diabetes Prevention Service Project, demonstrating our commitment to improving the health and well-being of veterans in our community.

We collected fresh produce and healthy food items and were honored to distribute many of these nutritious donations to veterans, along with educational information on healthy eating, nutrition, and diabetes prevention.

This project reflects our commitment to serving others while supporting one of Lions Clubs International's Global Causes—Diabetes.

Thank you to every member who helped make this service project possible. 💙🦁💛
