FLUX SHOW 2026 examines the gap between contemporary artistic practice and traditional art education. Building on decades of experimentation with technology, media, and society, the exhibition introduces high school artists to creative languages often absent from conventional classrooms, including projection, moving image, sound, interaction, installation, spatial practice, and digital media. Rather than presenting these approaches as new or revolutionary, FLUX SHOW 2026 recognizes them as fundamental forms of contemporary culture and invites art education to evolve alongside the artistic world in which today’s students already live.

On view at SITE Gallery at The Silos at Sawyer Yards through August 23. Open daily 3-8pm.

Aplauso Magazine proudly announces Houston Plays the World, a major group exhibition featuring contemporary paintings and sculptures inspired by the spirit of the 2026 FIFA World Cup and the cultural energy of Houston as an official host city. The exhibition will be presented in the East Gallery at Silver Street Studios, one of Houston’s most recognized art destinations.

Houston Plays the World brings together a collective of artists and friends whose works explore the universal language of soccer—movement, passion, identity, and unity—while also honoring Houston’s international character. Through dynamic visual storytelling, the exhibition reflects the excitement surrounding the world’s most celebrated sporting event and highlights Houston’s role as a global crossroads where cultures connect.

On view at Silver Street Studios East Gallery through July 9.
