Come and celebrate with us the 10th Anniversary of Sculpture Month Houston!
Statement from Curator Volker Eisele:
It almost feels like yesterday when, in 2016, Tommy Gregory and I were looking for a suitable space to show installation art and came across the towering Silos. We were in awe of the scale and enormity of the architecture and, luckily, were promptly invited to show our exhibitions there.
The rest is history, and we are proud to have given more than 200 sculptural artists from Houston and across Texas a forum and the opportunity to present their installation art.
We have structured all our previous exhibitions around a thematic concept, but for this year’s exhibition we are breaking the mold. We chose the title “Singular Visions” to showcase the great variety and diversity of today’s installation art, including, at times, far-out positions that push and mark the boundaries.
If there is a common theme, it might be the stark poetry of art and art-making — and, yes, the joy of experiencing the superb craft and energy of artists driven by innovation and creativity.
Please join us for our opening reception on Saturday, October 3, from 6pm to 9pm to enjoy the art, music, w**e, and b**r. Bring your friends and family and celebrate this festive occasion with us!
