A big thank you to Fry Rd M.U.D. for purchasing a new SCBA decontamination washer for our department.
This equipment is a critical step in helping us comply with NFPA 1850 and, more importantly, in reducing firefighter exposure to carcinogens. Clean gear saves live and this investment directly supports our ability to better protect our members from the long-term cancer risks that come with the job.
We truly appreciate the partnership and the commitment to firefighter health and safety.

What an incredible week!

This past week, we proudly completed our 6th Annual Junior Fire Academy, and what a fantastic experience it was. Throughout the week, these future leaders had the opportunity to learn, grow, and experience many firsts while gaining hands-on knowledge from firefighters, EMS personnel, and other emergency service professionals.

Watching these young men and women build confidence, develop new skills, and create lasting friendships is what this camp is all about.

A huge thank you to all of our partners, instructors, and volunteers who dedicated their time and expertise to make this week such a success. We also want to thank the parents for trusting us with your children and allowing them to spend the week with our fire department. Your support makes this program possible.

We are already looking forward to doing it all again next summer!

Save the date: Our 7th Annual Junior Fire Academy will be held July 26-30, 2027. We can't wait to see the next group of future firefighters!

Looking for a unique summer experience for your child? The Westlake Junior Fire Academy Camp gives youth ages **12-15** the opportunity to spend five days learning, exploring, and participating in hands-on activities alongside real firefighters and EMS personnel.
From emergency response scenarios and fire safety skills to team-building activities and behind-the-scenes experiences, campers will gain knowledge, confidence, and memories that will last a lifetime. This is not your typical summer camp—it's a one-of-a-kind opportunity that they won't find anywhere else.
Camp Dates: July 27-31
Ages: 12-15
To help us prepare for camp, please submit all registration forms and payment by **July 17**. This allows our staff to ensure we have the equipment, supplies, and resources ready to provide the best possible experience for every camper.
