🚀 Our 5th grade scientists kicked off a new unit on **Force** with a little friendly competition! Students explored **balanced and unbalanced forces** through a fun game of tug-of-war and then jumped right into investigating:

🔎 **Does the amount of force applied to an object affect the distance it travels?**

Our mathematicians also put their skills to the test with **Jeopardy** as they reviewed for their **Unit 3 Multiplying Decimals Test** today! 🧮🎯

Our Wranglers were blessed with a delicious brisket filled spud for lunch today from the awesome Longhorn Steakhouse (Sugarland). Thank you Mr. Gaeto for always taking care of us!

Our math/science teachers, Kinder and SLC were joined at our campus by other maroon track teachers of the same content & grade to do plan together for upcoming units. The ELAR/Soc. St teachers did the same at Velasquez this afternoon.

🎶📚 Figurative Language in Action! 📚🎶

Our 3rd Grade ELAR students have been diving into figurative language, and today we took our learning to the next level! 🎤✨

Students listened to short clips from songs and had to identify the type of figurative language they heard. They first worked independently, writing their answers on their dry-erase boards. 📝🤔

Then came the fun part! They teamed up with their classmates to discuss their thinking, explain why they chose their answer, and use evidence from the song to prove their reasoning. 💬🧠

I loved hearing students use academic language, defend their thinking, and learn from one another! 💕👏

Learning + music + teamwork = a pretty awesome ELAR day! 🎶📖✨

📚💗 Honoring Dolly Parton! 💗📚

Today we celebrated Dolly Parton Day at school! It was so sweet seeing some of our 3rd graders dress up to honor Dolly and her love of children and reading. 🌟📖

We were also so lucky to have our wonderful counselor, Mrs. Lappage, visit each of our third-grade classrooms and read a book to our students! The kids absolutely loved it, and it was such a special way to celebrate the joy of reading. 🥰📚
