Households in need of home repair services due to Hurricane Beryl can now access resources from the Greater Houston Disaster Alliance’s Hurricane Beryl Recovery Fund!

Eligible households (see included images) can apply for home repair services at connectivehomerepair.org.

If approved for assistance, Connective will match applicants with a home repair agency suited to their needs, location, spoken language, and available resources. Please note that due to limited resources, the most impacted and vulnerable households will be provided home repair services, and an application does not guarantee home repairs.

Special thank you to our home repair nonprofit partners at Covenant Community Capital, Houston's Fifth Ward Community Redevelopment Corporation, Hope Disaster Recovery, Houston Habitat for Humanity, Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County, TX, Rebuilding Together Houstonn, The Restoration Team, and West Street Recovery for helping our neighbors regain safety and shelter as we continue to recover from Hurricane Beryl.

We are deeply saddened by the loss of former Houston City Council Member, community activist, and friend of United Way, Felix Fraga.

Felix grew up in East End and spent many years helping others, including the Latino community. Felix also shared his time and talents with United Way of Greater Houston, including his deep involvement with our Campaign for the Homeless and his unmissable presence as a speaker on the United Way campaign trail. Felix’s contributions earned him our most prestigious honor, the Robert W. Kneebone Volunteer of the Year Award, in 1987.

We will forever be grateful to Felix for all he did to uplift his community and our sincerest condolences go out to his family, friends, and colleagues.

Our President and CEO Amanda McMillian is having a great time visiting our nation’s capital to share how United Way is helping our neighbors not just land on their feet but stay there! 🏛️ 💙

Amanda is visiting the White House this week along with other United Way CEOs from across the country. The group met with key officials yesterday and discussed affordable housing, jobs, early childhood education, and other ways that officials can help ALICE families.

The group of CEOs also shared how valuable United Ways are to our communities.

H-E-B has been a long-time partner with United Way of Greater Houston to help connect people to possibility. In sunny skies and otherwise, the incredible team at H-E-B works every day to ensure that in Greater Houston, Here Everything’s Better.

For more than 100 years, H-E-B has demonstrated its commitment to communities in crisis by donating financial support, emergency supplies, drinking water and food, as well as providing efficient ways for customers to assist those affected by a natural disaster. In addition to all of H-E-B’s immediate relief efforts in the wake of last week’s storm, we are deeply grateful to H-E-B for their $1 million lead gift for the Greater Houston Disaster Alliance’s Hurricane Beryl Recovery Fund. They truly are Helping Here. ❤️ Thank You H-E-B!

Talk about taking generosity to new heights!

We’re looking back fondly on Williams' Top Give campaign (inspired by Top Gun), which raised a remarkable $1.1 million to get our neighbors out of the Danger Zone and on the path to financial stability.

From volunteering at the Salvation Army to tennis and ping pong tournaments, this team found so many ways to take flight and uplift our community.

The forecasts are in: The 2024 hurricane season is predicted to be above normal, and the greater Houston region must prepare accordingly.

While nobody knows for certain how many of these predicted storms will form and where they will go if they do, keeping supplies on hand and a plan in place early can help you and your family stay safe should a tropical storm or hurricane threaten our region.
