LEGO competition brought out some truly spectacular creations. It was amazing to see what can happen when creativity and a box of LEGO bricks come together. The spectacular builds on display had us admiring the creativity, patience, and ingenuity behind every creation.πŸ‘πŸΌπŸ˜„

Over the course of the year, Mrs. Lewis’ GATE students at Mesa View Middle School partnered with Poseidon Education and Orange County Public Works to bring stormwater quality education to life. For their science experiment, students collected and analyzed stormwater samples, interpreted their findings, and then translated their findings into action.

Using their results, they designed educational campaigns featuring posters, stickers, keychains, and videos to raise awareness about protecting local water quality. They even created storm drain protections to help prevent pollution before it reaches our oceans and waterways.

This hands-on project gave students the opportunity to think like scientists, problem-solvers, and community leaders while making a meaningful impact beyond the classroom. Their work demonstrates how authentic learning experiences empower students to apply their knowledge to real-world challenges and create positive change.

Over the past week, two of our schools received additions to their campuses thanks to the generosity and dedication of community partners.

At Circle View Elementary, students are enjoying a new wrap-around tree bench, sports bench, and sports equipment donated by the Robert Mayer Leadership Academy, creating more opportunities for connection, activity, and engagement during the school day.

At Hope View Elementary, former Hawk Justin, now an Eagle Scout with Troop 227, gave back to the school community through his Eagle Scout project by building several beautiful benches for campus, providing welcoming spaces for students to gather, learn, and reflect.

These projects are powerful reminders that strong schools are built through strong partnerships. When our community comes together, students benefit in meaningful ways that extend far beyond the classroom.πŸ˜€πŸͺ΅πŸ‘πŸΌ
