In addition to celebrating graduation, our volunteers have been busy serving the community throughout the past week!

On Monday, volunteers visited Forbes Road School for Fun Day. Students had the opportunity to test their firefighting skills by completing an obstacle course while carrying fire hose. They then drove a wedge through two blocks, tied a rope around the fire hose and pulled it back, and finished by racing to the end of the course to operate a fire hose and extinguish a simulated house fire. It was a fun and educational experience for everyone involved!

On Wednesday, another group of volunteers traveled to Camp Cadet, where they assisted with landing Life Net 8-1 and demonstrated vehicle rescue techniques. The cadets had the chance to learn about emergency operations and gain firsthand insight into the skills and teamwork required during rescue situations.

Forbes Road students collected funds this year to help support the Hustontown Area Volunteer Fire Company to purchase water and Gatorade for their apparatus. A total of $232.20 was raised. Students participated by paying $1 to wear hats or carry a stuffed animal. Presenting the check are Lillian Fraker, Kinleigh Smith, and Adelaide Revercomb to Fire Company members Ryan Chamberlain and Darius DeShong.

Join us as we come together to support one of our own at a surprise benefit for a fellow firefighter. Enjoy a great evening of community, featuring a delicious meal, a basket raffle, and small games of chance.

All proceeds will go directly toward helping during their recovery. Your support means more than words—come out, show your strength, and stand with us in backing a brother on the road for recovery.

Company 57 and mutual aid departments were out yesterday afternoon working a brush fire. Thanks to quick response by crews to rapidly stop the spread of this fire and gain control before it became a lot worse.
