Carter Hall, age 89, of Delphia, Kentucky, passed away on April 23, 2026, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky. He was born on June 27, 1936, in Delphia, Kentucky. Carter was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and respected member of his community. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Quinna Frazier Hall; his sons, Derrick Hall (Tammy) and Todd Hall (Lindsay); and his cherished grandchildren, Gabriel Hall and Alyssa Hall.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Preston and Mary Hall; his brothers, Joe, Richard, Ray, Preston, Charles, and Kelly Hall; and his sisters, Stella, Clarissa, and Anne Ruth Hall.
Carter dedicated much of his life to public service. He served as Fire Chief of the Leatherwood Volunteer Fire Department for 40 years, holding the distinction of being the oldest active fire chief in the state of Kentucky and the sixth oldest firefighter in the state. His commitment to protecting others and serving his community was a source of pride and inspiration.
He also honorably served in the United States Military as a missile specialist and was a member of the Oozle Finch Squadron. In addition, he was a member of the Hazard DAV Chapter 64, a Kentucky Colonel, a Lodge member of Nolan Lodge, and a Shriner with the Oleika Temple.
Carter will be remembered for his dedication, strength, and unwavering commitment to his family, his country, and his community.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026 5-8PM at Maggard's Mtn. View Chapel. Funeral Services will take place on Sunday, April 26, 2026 1PM at Big Leatherwood First Baptist Church. Place of burial will be at Whispering Pines Cemetery located on Bark Camp Branch in Delphia Ky.
His legacy of service and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
