Join Purdue Extension - Vigo County ANR Educator Tabby Flinn in a free virtual program to learn about some of our insects, spiders, and other scary bugs that call Indiana home. Participants are welcome to bring pictures of their creepy crawlers to get help with identification.

Join us for a hands-on Lunch & Learn as we explore the plants we associate with fall, from pumpkins and gourds to mums, ornamental corn, and more. We’ll discuss the history and traditions behind these seasonal favorites while working together to create a fall display. Come ready to learn, share ideas, and get inspired for your own fall decorating!

There are some exciting changes ahead for Purdue Extension!

Beginning in 2027, Purdue Extension is transitioning to a regional service model, allowing Educators to collaborate across county lines and connect communities with even more Purdue expertise, programs, and resources! While some things may look a little different, our commitment to serving local communities remains the same. And don't worry, 4-H will continue to have a local presence in every Indiana county!

As we make this transition, we'll begin sharing news, programs, and events on our new regional page. This page will eventually be phased out, so we encourage you to follow Purdue Extension Central Region to stay informed.

Need help sealing an eviction record? Join Indiana Legal Services, Inc. and Southeast Community Services for a free Eviction Sealing Clinic on Wednesday, October 7, from 3:30–7 p.m. Appointments are strongly encouraged.

Attorneys will help eligible participants complete the paperwork needed to request that an eviction be sealed and provide guidance on filing and serving the necessary documents.

September is Hunger Action Month. Launched by Feeding America in 2007, Hunger Action Month raises awareness about food insecurity and inspires action to help end hunger in our communities.

In 2025, Indy Hunger Network found that very low food security affected as many as 37% of Marion County residents. This month, the Indianapolis Office of Public Health & Safety Division of Community Nutrition & Food Policy is partnering with community organizations to host conversations and food distribution events focused on supporting residents facing food insecurity—including veterans, immigrant communities, families experiencing housing instability, and individuals who are justice-involved.

Together, we can raise awareness, take action and work toward a hunger-free community.

Join Purdue Extension VITA for a free Consumer Protection Community Event on October 1 from 10:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m. at Bloomington Public Library Downtown.
Learn about scam prevention, debt collection rights, taxpayer rights and more. Free basic tax preparation and limited legal sessions will also be available.

The Purdue Extension Marion County office is closed Monday, September 7th in observance of Labor Day—a day to honor the hard work and contributions of America’s workforce. We will reopen Tuesday, September 8th at 8 AM.

Purdue Extension ANR Educator Jayde Grisham recently welcomed guests to her farm, Honey Bird Flower Farm, for a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to grow market-ready blooms.

The experience ended with the best part: everyone got to create their own bouquet using flowers grown right on Jayde’s farm! Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make this Cut Flower Farm Tour a success!
