Fort Harrison State Park

Fort Harrison State Park This is the official Indiana DNR page for Fort Harrison State Park in Indianapolis. Fort Harrison State Park is a state park for many seasons for many reasons.

Patrons may enjoy visiting the park all year round, especially in winter since Fort Harrison features the Sledding Hill, one of the biggest in this area. Spring is the season to walk with the woodland wildflowers in full bloom across the park. Summer is the perfect time for a canoe trip down Fall Creek, the major water feature that runs through the north side of Fort Harrison. Autumn brings warm,

sunny days and breathtaking fall colors to this, the last forested corner left in Marion County. Enjoy The Fort Golf Course and for an overnight trip, stay at the Fort Harrison Inn and Conference Center. Please review our commenting guidelines at http://on.IN.gov/dnrsocial. This property is in the Eastern Time Zone.

We are very sad to announce the passing of one of our beloved volunteers, Joy Fulk. Joy was an integral part of our volunteer team for many years, and she will be greatly missed. Joy's passion for environmental education, native plants, and our natural resources were evident in the over 500 hours of volunteer work she gave just to our park. She wore many hats, ranging from interpreter to gardener to invasive remover. No task was too large or small for her. Joy's welcoming and kind personality made her a vital part of the Friends of Fort Harrison State Park, by leading group projects, participating as a board member, and helping to organize events. Joy's legacy will live on in our beautiful pollinator gardens throughout the park that she helped to create and manage through the years. We hope our visitors will enjoy the hard work Joy put into our park for years to come. 🌻
