🏆 Exciting News! MSD of Wayne Township Adult Education has been named a Program of Excellence by the Indiana Department of Workforce Development for the third year in a row! 🎓✨

This state designation recognizes top-performing adult education programs that hit high benchmarks in student achievement, high school equivalencies, high-demand career training, and employer partnerships.

Across Marion, Hendricks, and Morgan counties, our programs help adult learners upskill, secure credentials, and transform their futures. As earning a high school credential increases average yearly wages by an estimated $8,400, the economic impact reaches our entire community! 📈

Congratulations to our incredible staff, students, and community partners who make success stories like this possible every single day. All 39 recognized programs statewide will be celebrated at the IAACE award ceremony on September 30th! 👏🎉

Happy Labor Day Eve from Wayne Township Adult Education! 🛠️📚

Reminder: All of our class sites will be CLOSED tomorrow, Monday, September 7th, so our students, teachers, and staff can enjoy the holiday with family and friends. Classes will resume on their normal schedule following the holiday.

As we celebrate Labor Day and honor the hard work, dedication, and contributions of workforce members across our community, we are reminded that all labor that uplifts humanity has dignity.

Adult education plays a vital role in empowering individuals to learn new skills, advance their careers, and achieve their goals. Education opens doors to new opportunities, stronger families, and better tomorrows.

Student Spotlight: Rosa✨

Rosa is currently enrolled in our High School Equivalency program at BDU. Let's hear what she has to say!

Why did you start classes in Adult Education?
"First, this is one of the most important parts of my goals for myself. I really want to learn English and I want to speak fluently. I have 3 jobs right now and I want to get a better job and a nice car. I want to have time to rest and have time to myself and this is part of that goal. I also want to study to be a technician and I know this is a good way to get there."

What is your ultimate goal for attending classes?
"I have knowledge about human resources and I have experience in safety and regulation like OSHA. I have experience with payroll and those things will help, but the education I get here will help me know how to understand my own finances and I want to help others be able to do that as well. I also have curiosity about taxes and how it works. I feel like I am blind to what is happening, and I want to know more about how business works."

Is there anything else you would like to share?
"I am in a new cohort and it is a great group. I have classmates that we may have differences with and it helps me see a different perspective. I wish we had more time to get to know our classmates because they are good to learn from. I also enjoy my teacher."✈️
