Today, we proudly celebrate our principal, Dr. Stanley Law, as he kicked off the 2026 National Institute for Excellence in Teaching Summer Institute with “A Conversation with Dr. Law” alongside Dr. Joshua Barnett.

From leading George Washington High School to earning recognition as a NIET School of Promise, Dr. Law continues to demonstrate what is possible when a relentless focus on students, educators, and excellence drives every decision. We are grateful for his leadership and proud to see his work highlighted on a national stage.

The conversation may have started with Dr. Law, but the impact reaches every scholar, educator, and family we serve.

Today marked the opening session of the 2026 SkillsUSA National Leadership & Skills Conference, and we could not be more proud of the scholars representing George Washington High School and Arsenal Technical High School on the national stage!

Making it to this conference is an incredible accomplishment that reflects months of hard work, dedication, leadership, and technical excellence. Our students have already proven they belong among the best in the nation, and we are excited to watch them showcase their talents, skills, and professionalism throughout the week.

As competition begins, we are anticipating greatness and cheering on every scholar as they represent their schools, Indianapolis Public Schools, and the State of Indiana with pride.

As we close the chapter on the 2025–2026 school year, we’re taking a moment to celebrate every lesson taught, every barrier broken, every goal achieved, and every life impacted.

Today, our staff gathered around an Achievement Cake; sharing the accomplishments, milestones, and moments that made this year unforgettable. From academic gains to personal growth, from first-year wins to legacy moments, every slice represented the heart, dedication, and excellence poured into George Washington High School this year.

Teacher closeout may mark the end of the school year, but the impact made inside these walls will continue far beyond today. Thank you to our incredible staff for making this a year full of promise, purpose, and progress.
