A reminder as we celebrate our 25th year on East Green Street with our patrons favorite memories: sometimes it's the simplest things that bring the greatest joy. We're happy to be a place that offers people a place to connect.

The note reads: "My favorite TCPL memory...seeing my friend from my old school."

It's an exciting week as we kick off a new month at your Library with summer visible on the horizon! A reminder that our Unearth a Story Summer Reading kicks off in just less than three weeks, so check out our webpage for a guide to all that we have in store for people of all ages in June, July, and August!
But before we get to Summer Reading, we have a big week on the way that includes the return of The Gay Agenda at TCPL with a National Memorial AIDS Quilt exhibition and a resource fair. The week also features a special program for parents and caretakers that will dig into new data about the state of youth in our community. That program will be available in-person and be streamed on our YouTube channel as well. We also have our recurring special programs that include the First Mondays afterschool program with WSKG Kids, our Tabletop Role-Playing Brainstorming Group, the Stitch Club and our Chinese bilingual storytime!
We hope you are able to join us for these exciting events and programs. Watch for more information in Table of Contents: The Monthly TCPL Newsletter when it hits inboxes tomorrow! Not signed up? You can get on the mailing list right now at tcpl.org/newsletter!

Shelf Aware is back with another peek into the stacks of new books your Library staff is adding to the shelves every single day.
This time, Judd is looking at some legendary SciFi authors - as well as what he says might be his favorite book! Come check them out.

In this video:
Valperga: or, the Life and Adventures of Castruccio, Prince of Lucca by Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley.

Neuromancer by William Gibson.

The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt.

The Luminaries by Eleanor Cotton.

The Scar by China Miéville.

The new month is coming, and that means First Mondays with WSKG Kids!

Kick off each month with curiosity and creativity! Join WSKG Education Outreach for First Mondays, a fun, hands-on STEAM series for children and families. Each session features a new topic - like nature, engineering, sound, or space - paired with a PBS KIDS clip, big thinking questions, and a creative activity or craft.

Come wonder, build, experiment and create together in a welcoming, playful space - no experience needed, just bring your curiosity!

Every child receives a new book of their choice!

This is a drop-in program with no registration required.

We're just a few days away from an important conversation about the well-being of youth in our community!

Parents, caregivers, and community members are invited to be part of an this discussion on Monday, June 1 at your Library.

Using recent Community-Level Youth Development Evaluation, or CLYDE, data from students in grades 7–12, we’ll explore trends in substance use, mental health, school and community connection, and more, along with how parents and caregivers can support their teens. Then, a panel of local providers, educators, and leaders will reflect on what the findings mean for families and discuss how we can continue building a supportive environment for our youth.

Presented by the Rural Health Institute of New York and the Community Coalition for Healthy Youth.

This is a drop in workshop - no registration required. To submit questions for the panelists, email [email protected].

This event will be livestreamed on our YouTube channel (YouTube.com/TCPLNY) for those who cannot attend in person.
