The JFRD Auxiliary had another successful training meeting last night. As we prepare for Jacksonville Jaguars football season, we focused on patient assessments at football games and special events. We would like to especially thank Deputy Oman, Tactical Medical Training Coordinator for the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office for stopping by and teaching MARCH assement!

Our members had another great and busy week serving the Jacksonville community! 🚑

Several of our members began working high school football games across the county alongside our partner agencies, including JFRD, DCPSPD, and JSO. We also had members staffing various stations throughout the county and supporting our community wherever needed.

We had another busy and productive week! Our members have been preparing for the launch of our new First Responder Program, while also getting ready for the start of Duval County Public Schools high school football and Jacksonville Jaguars games.

Throughout the week, our members have been working concerts, races, and other events across the county. Some of our members interested in law enforcement, including JSO Auxiliary members and full-time JSO officers, spent time at Huguenot Beach working alongside one of out members and helping strengthen their trauma assessment skills and provider judgement.

Another group of members has also been working toward various instructor qualifications so they can teach our future new members valuable new skills and to educate the public, making it another busy week for JEMA!

We’re looking forward to the upcoming Jaguars season. Go Jags! 🐆

We wrapped up the weekend by participating in the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office Safety Fest at the Avenues Mall. While there, our members recruited new volunteers, educated the public on infant and adult CPR, and provided free blood pressure screenings.

Outside of the event, our members also worked several events at Jax Beach and staffed multiple Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department stations throughout Duval County.

A huge thank you to Jacksonville Sheriff's Office for inviting us to participate in this year’s Safety Fest and for giving us the opportunity to connect with the community and network with our local public safety partners.

Another busy week for our members!

We’ve continued providing medical coverage at Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp games, Jacksonville Beach events, and staffing the stations Ofcourse. We are also preparing for the upcoming high school football and Jaguars seasons with our partner agencies Epsilon Medical Solutions, Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department, and Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

This week, our newest EMT members participated in a large training where they were evaluated on patient assessments and other core EMT skills to ensure they’re ready to serve our community.

Today, some of our members joined our partner agencies at the Jaguars practice facility for an annual sports medicine refresher training. With the Jaguars season just around the corner, this training helps keep our members’ skills sharp and ready to respond to medical emergencies at sporting events. We look forward to working alongside our partner agencies to help ensure a safe and enjoyable season for everyone attending Jaguars games, or any of the high-school football games coming up.

It was a busy week leading up to the Fourth of July for our members, who provided EMS support at the and games, along with multiple other community events across Jacksonville.

On July 3rd and 4th our members assisted with Freedom Fest, the Jacksonville Beach fireworks celebration, the fireworks at Friendship Fountain, and also staffing at multiple JFRD fire stations throughout Duval County over the last two days. Working alongside our partner agencies— and —we helped ensure residents and visitors could enjoy a safe and memorable Fourth of July celebration in the and .beach. Happy 250th anniversary of America.

On Monday night we had a large turnout of members and new applicants to our monthly meeting and training. At the meeting we had multiple members sworn in and during the training portion with Station 75 we refreshed on some of our trauma assessment skills and trauma interventions like back-boarding, pelvic binder and tourniquet application, and wound packing just to name a few skills that were refreshed. Thank you to station 75 and Lt. Jordan for hosting this great training, and congratulations to those who were sworn in Monday night.
