The Women’s Center of Jacksonville improves the lives of women through advocacy, support & education.

WCJ is a private, nonprofit Jacksonville-based organization offering advocacy, support and education to women and rape recovery services to all individuals, regardless of gender. WCJ is the only certified rape crisis center in Duval, Baker and Nassau Counties and provides sexual assault forensic exams to individuals over the age of 18.

The WCJ also offers community education, counseling, referral assistance, rape prevention services and breast cancer education, support and advocacy to residents of Northeast Florida.

When we asked for book donations for our Little Free Library at Colcord, you showed up in full force.

Stories have a quiet power. They offer escape when we need rest, comfort when we feel isolated, and a gentle reminder that none of us are alone in what we carry. Every single book stacked here represents a gesture of care from one neighbor to another—a reminder that healing doesn't happen in isolation, but in community.

To everyone who dropped off a book, shared our post, or supported this drive throughout September: thank you. You’ve helped turn our Little Free Library into a space filled with hope, discovery, and accessible refuge for anyone who walks up to it.

September is National Literacy Month! Help us celebrate by filling our Free Little Library in front of one of our office buildings.

To drop off the books, you can bring them to our Colcord location (5644 Colcord Ave, Jacksonville, FL, 32211) Monday through Friday, 9am-5pm.

We are taking book donations the entire month of September, new or gently used. We will take any book, it can be for adults, teens, or children. If you need help choosing what book to donate, the second slide has some prompts to inspire your choice!
