Florida Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf FRID is a member driven organization. We encourage members to be involved at all levels. There are several key positions open.

Is dedicated to advancing the practice of American Sign Language interpreting in Florida through professional development, scholarships, and community engagement to promote equity and cultural inclusion for individuals who use ASL interpreting services. Happy Deaf Awareness Week from FRID!

We as Interpreters would not be here without Deaf folks - the community, language and culture they have cultivated have carved the path for our profession to even exist. Take some time this week to recognize a Deaf influencer, teacher, colleague, or even a loved one in the community whom you value.

The 2026 FRID Board of Directors election is complete, and we’re excited to introduce your newly elected leaders:

President: Amy Dawson
Region Representative North: Elizabeth Anthony

For the remaining positions, the Nominations & Elections Committee will reach out to the eligible write-in candidates to confirm whether they wish to participate in the runoff election.

📅 If eligible candidates accept, the runoff election will begin on October 3, 2026.
