Jaffrey- Rindge Cooperative School District Announces Appointment of New Co- Leadership Team at Rindge Memorial School.

Rindge, NH – June 4, 2026 – The Jaffrey-Rindge Cooperative School District is pleased to announce the appointment of Heather Dean and James Gallagher as the new elementary assistant principals who will co-lead Rindge Memorial School. Both educators bring a wealth of experience and a commitment to fostering an inclusive and collaborative school environment.

Heather Dean, who has been part of the Jaffrey-Rindge Cooperative School District since 2003, has served as a classroom teacher in the roles of multi-age K/1, first grade, and second grade at Rindge Memorial School. Over the past four years, she has served as the District Mentor Coordinator. Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Education in Elementary Education from Plymouth State University and a Master of School Administration from Keene State College. Notably, Heather was part of the district’s 2019 Teacher Leadership Academy (TLA) cohort, developed in partnership with Keene State College, which supported leadership development throughout the district and was pivotal in strengthening the district's collective leadership model.

James Gallagher has been a vital member of the Rindge Memorial School community since 2016, working as a Special Education Teacher and Case Manager. He holds multiple degrees, including a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies from Saint Anselm College, a Master of Arts in Philosophy from Boston College, and a Master of Education in Special Education from Keene State College. James was a member of the 2023 TLA cohort, further enhancing his leadership skills and commitment to fostering an inclusive educational environment.

“I am very excited to take on administrative duties with Heather Dean at RMS. RMS is a special place with an amazing staff and community. I look forward to continuing the wonderful work that is taking place in our school,” said Gallagher.

Dean echoed this sentiment, stating, “I look forward to the administrative opportunity to work alongside Jimmy Gallagher at RMS. RMS has been my ‘home’ for the past 23 years, and I want the staff within the building to know I am invested in supporting them through this next change process. We will maintain collaborative systems where all staff and community members unite and support the academic growth of learners, so that they can thrive each day as well as shape the goals and expectations of the school.”

Superintendent Reuben Duncan expressed his enthusiasm for the new appointments, stating, “Heather and James are both exceptional educators who understand the unique needs of our students and community. Their leadership will help us continue to provide a nurturing and invigorating learning environment at Rindge Memorial School.”

A meet-and-greet event will be held at Rindge Memorial School on Tuesday, June 9, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM, where parents and community members can meet the new co-leaders and discuss their vision for the school.
