November Meeting Calendar

10/25/2018

Greetings,

This Monday, October 29th, the New York City Council Committee on Transportation will be conducting an oversight hearing on city parking regulations.

Included among the legislation that will be considered at the hearing are Councilman Miller's two "Commercial Truck Abuse Act" bills to restrict the maximum parking period for 18-wheel tractor-trailers and increase the penalty for violations of the stipulation.

Introduction 1010:
would increase the fine for a first violation to $400, and subsequent violations within a six-month period to $800

Introduction 1011:
would reduce the maximum time during which a tractor-trailer (i.e. semi-trailer truck, 18-wheeler, etc.) can be legally parked from 3 hours to 90 minutes

Needless to say, curbing the worst parking abuses within the commercial truck industry has been a longstanding priority of our Southeast Queens community.

On behalf of CM Miller, we urge you to testify at Monday's hearing.

Date: Monday, October 29, 2018
Time: 10:00 AM
Location: Council Chambers, City Hall

If you won't be able to participate, please submit your written testimony via email to Jonathan Ettricks ([email protected]) or William Martin ([email protected]) no later than 3 days following the date of the hearing.

Thank you for your assistance and consideration.
Councilman Daneek Miller
