Last week, I was honored to receive the 2026 Advocacy Award from the New Jersey Coalition Against Human Trafficking. I am deeply grateful
to their Legislative Committee for selecting me for this recognition.

This award honors individuals who have made a significant impact in the fight against human trafficking and who have worked to make New
Jersey a safer place for all. While I am humbled by this recognition, I know that the work is far from over. Human trafficking continues to impact communities across our state, and we must remain committed to prevention, education, victim support, and holding traffickers
accountable.

I was proud to accept this award during the Coalition's Advocacy Day in Trenton, surrounded by fellow honoree (including legislators and
advocates), survivors, and partners who are dedicated to ending this horrific crime.

I am thankful for the NJ Coalition Against Human Trafficking for this meaningful honor and for their everlasting commitment to
protecting and empowering survivors.

Together, we will continue the fight to end human trafficking.

I continue to be a proud sponsor of Bill S3946. This legislation expands crime of human trafficking and eliminates statute of
limitations; establishes human trafficking response teams; expands training and education requirements; appropriates $1 million to the Commission on Human Trafficking. I will continue to fight with NJCHT to make this legislation become law.

Senator McKnight Champions DHS Strategic Plan
Senator Angela McKnight expressed strong support for the DHS Direct Care Workforce Strategic Plan presented during the session, pledging to champion any legislation necessary to support its implementation.

“Direct care workers are the backbone of our disability services system, and for too long we have asked them to do more with less,” said Senator McKnight. “This strategic plan represents a serious, data-driven commitment to recruiting, retaining, and supporting the workforce that our most vulnerable residents depend on. I am fully behind these efforts and look forward to working with my colleagues to turn this plan into meaningful legislation.”

Dedicated my morning and part of my afternoon to the Board Retreat. It is truly an honor to serve as a Board Member of an organization that is making a meaningful impact on the lives of mothers, babies, and families across our communities.
