The Labor Day Weekend continues! Another Family Fun Day, Hooray! The city facilities are closed, but the Mendenhall Mall is open, and you can play at the Rainforest Play Zone! Member Play is from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., and Open Play is from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. We look forward to seeing you and your families this afternoon!

The sun continues! We remain outdoors with you. However, we WILL be on-site, with our doors open, at the mall, waiting to greet those who attend the Alaska Youth Choir's first rehearsal of the season!

If you've been itching to purchase a membership to access the Play Zone with the flexibility you prefer, feel free to swing by between 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., and we'll get that on the books for you! You'll be given a code for the membership door, and access will be granted.

Today is the day when rehearsals begin! It's going to be so good to see you all again.

One thing we've learned as an indoor playground is that the sun wins every time (as it should)! The sun this past August and September has been the reprieve we needed from Snowmageddon. I'm so thankful for a Fall that has taken its time to arrive in full force. The fireweed may have gone to seed, but this year, Summer has decided it isn't giving in so easily.

Closed today for Member-Only Play from start to finish. As a member, if the bugs are bad, you can use your code to head indoors to seek reprieve at the Rainforest Play Zone! Enjoy indoor play to your heart's content.

We'll be back tomorrow evening, Thursday, for Open Play from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

As a new small business owner, a year in, my journey as an owner is one I had to grow into. I'll now be running it fully on my own, with my family, as the original owners of the Play Zone did. That's how it becomes sustainable.

In so doing, I need to balance what's best for the Juneau community alongside what's best for my family. As a homeschooling mom, I need my mornings to be spent with my children. As a business owner, I need to be present at the Mendenhall Mall as much as I can.

I'm so thankful for the membership option available to everyone at the Rainforest Play Zone! There's a Member Door with access via a code, and everyone has been respectful as members, cleaning up before they go. It has gone so well that Member Only Play will be every day, Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with Open Play every day, Monday through Saturday, 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

You save money when you become a member! Plus, memberships will give you access to the Play Zone anytime during Mall Hours, except when Private Parties are booked. Swing by this afternoon to purchase yours! My family and I look forward to seeing you then.

Every now and then, we're able to stay open past the main mall doors' closing. Such is the case tomorrow night, Saturday, May 16, starting at 6:00 p.m.! We've got a Christian worship service planned, led by Jesus Pursuit 907, and you are welcome and invited to join us for prayer and praise. 🙏🙌🙏

Have you started Spring cleaning? Clearing out closets, making room, going through your kiddo's clothes as they keep growing? , as a reminder, the Rainforest Play Zone is accepting gently used clothing (no stains, rips, or holes), household decor, and gently used (like-new) toys. Clothing can be infant to adult, for boys, girls, women, and men!

Thank you for thinking of the Rainforest Play Zone Community, which is made up of moms, dads, guardians, and grandparents, as you clean out your home to make room for the next, because we're all in this together, and your donations help the Play Zone just as much as the parents and their kiddos that are standing next to you.

The Rainforest Play Zone is almost complete! What it lacks is a few good trees. Trees for dynamic lighting, a forest canopy, added in thrills of imagination come to life!

How the community came together for the at Twin Lakes, let's gather round to build the Rainforest Play Zone its trees! Each tree will be built for the benefit of different programs, non-profits, and businesses in town: The Alaska Youth Choir, Encouraging Word Bookstore, Valor House Coffee (page Coming Soon!), the Rainforest Play Zone, and Mom-Pro.

Five trees to transform the space from great to amazing because our kids deserve the "Wow!" factor when it comes to the indoor spaces where they play when wanting to stay safe, warm, and dry during our rainy weather days.

Names of those who donate towards the will be displayed on a board hung from the tree's branches.

More information will be forthcoming as this project gets underway! For now, take in a mockup of what we're hoping will be brought to life one day. 🙏🏻
